>>>>>"Ponoš is correct; Serbia needs a coherent and effective defence strategy. It needs to build Air Defence systems to a level where it can be sure to destroy most attacking enemy aircraft. It must deploy surface-to-surface missile systems that can hit enemy bases and airports within 1,500 km of the Serbian border. It needs to train a large Special Forces unit to attack and destroy enemy infrastructure (bridges, power supplies, etc). It must organise local Home Guards to maintain civil order during times of war."

Or Serbia can, for a change, choose peace. You are surrounded by NATO, and soon it will be on all sides. You need at least $4-$5 Billion a year to have a meaningful defense, something you cannot afford. Look how Greece is going bankrupt trying to keep with Turkey.

I am not surprised a bit. The democrats in Serbia are appointed with the clear intention to demoralise Serbia in every aspect in order to be forced to bow before western powers. The reform of Serbian Army was one of the main goal of ruling party, but obviously not reform in positive but rather negative manner.

The ruling party has clear instructions from Brussels and Washington and thus must act accordingly. Sutanovac and Tadic will do everything in their power to minimise the potential of Serbian Army until finally demoralize our Army.

The first mistake was to appoint the minister of Army who has no experience or any links with the Army whatsoever. Instead of appointing General Ponosh as Minister of Army, we now have to deal with some incompetent idiotic party man like Sutanovac. The entire ruling suite is idiotic. All they do has nothing to do with interests of Serbia but the interests of Brussels. They are nothing but the obedient.

Wonder, when the people of Serbia will finally realise that they are ruled by the people who turned to be the worst leaders ever in Serbia’s history. Serbia has never been so much vulnerable position as it is now. If we fail to provide defence strategy for our country then we do not deserve to have one. This can be prevented only by the people of Serbia themselves by new revolution. Otherwise, we risk ending up without having a country.

There can be no meaningful defence strategy as long as Serbia’s EU/NATO-loving government remains in power.

Members (or aspiring members) of the EU/NATO have no independent defence strategy; they have “collective security” and “collective responsibilities.” Their defence strategies are decided by people in Washington and Brussels.

Serbia must do all of this and much more, but most of all it must give up all plans to join either the EU or NATO. If Serbia leaves its security in the hands of foreigners, then it is doomed.
