now having a pipeline & earning money is bad for serbia. of course only with the russian pipeline, not even our self-declared experts tell such stupidity when the eu-backed pipeline through serbia is in question.

and we all know the solidarity and non-parasital-attitude of our western friends ....

energy is a scar good & won´t stay lowpriced. will china and india stop to grow, just because the west and their economic dominance is vanishing? of course not!

it´s pretty easy, if the price stays low, then putin will - as in the last years - have some good ideas to increase the price (search news for gas-kartel).

if he has a moment without phantasy, he´ll stop payment in dollars, the only reason why a 3.world-economy like the american one is still existing.

the stalinist methods of forced buying of worthless dollars to buy energy is outfashioned, just like eusa!

and now: cry on you experts for everything ....

• >>>>>"With 49 percent of NIS’s ownership, the Serbian government will have officials in the administrative and supervision councils of the company, and several managerial positions, according to Politika’s source, but no details into the positions were given. '

I know why: Positions don't matter since Russians will make the rules anyway, notice the 51% vs. 49% ?

So what. Russians are going to make smart decisions which can only benefit Russia and Serbia. I don't have any problem with that at all.

While the Russians own 51% I would love to see NATO having enough nerve to bomb Serbia again. The difference of 2% will be of far greater value to Serbs in terms of security than being in total control.

Many countries have foreign owned companies on their soil and have sold the controlling part of their assets to foreign companies. When it comes to Russia being one of those countries, I think it's a bonus.

Albano, it's still more than any Albanian state will ever see, don't you agree? What do Albanians have to sell? Just curious.

Albano, you don´t get it, right?

it´s not about 51 percent here or 49 perent there...

what is in fact quite remarkable here: by striking this deal ( finally ) the importance of the western energy-transit-project is dramatically decreasing.

you obviously didn´t see that.

south-stream is more than only some percentage here or there...it´s about influence, not only in regard to questions of energy and not only in south-eastern Europe.

you will understand that in the futre, that´s something you can believe me.

Current Oil (WTI) price:

39,50 USD (-3,50 USD / -8,14%)

And this is not the bottom line. According Merril Lynch, it is possible that the oil price will fall to 25 USD per barrel what would mean that the Russian Oil/Gas companies (the most inefficient energy companies of the world) will make huge losses.

So far, Russia burned one quarter (171bn USD) of its financial reserves since the agression war in Georgia, 4 months ago. Another 100bn USD investment have been withdrawn out of Russia in the same time. If this downfall continues (and it seems that nobody wants to trust the Russians since their obstructive behaviour in the past years), Russia will be bankrupt in the 2nd or 3rd quarter 2009. The above mentioned figures cannot be denied, even when the Russian government tries to do that. But the riots which have started already (like in Wladiwastok) show the dramatic downfall.

In my opinion, I doubt that Serbia will win anything with that contract, because it surrendered the majority of NIS to Gazprom. If Serbia would hold more than 50%, it could insist to get its part of the earnings, like Bulgaria who shares the win with Gazprom. But the Russians made a good move to use their stance regarding the Kosovo issue in getting the most valuable company of Serbia for a ridicilous price. You can call it what you want, I regard this a bad deal for Serbia.

Excellent news for Serbia! During these tough times for the world economy its nice to see that Serbia will be part of the few that will have some economic security. Having Russia as our closest ally and partner makes this deal that much sweeter. This will cement Serbia's security and stability as well as bring us even closer to our Russian brothers. To the enemies of Serbia who tried to destroy her and minimize her presence in the Balkans, your plans have failed once again and Serbia is now clearly a area of strategic national interest for Russia. Her security & stability WILL be protected. Of course Serbia will also do all it can to see Russia prosper and succeed as it has done so throughout history.

This deal has been much criticised by the Western-financed DOS camp, but it has now been concluded. Russians will invest billions of Euros in Serbia and supply gas at prices much lower than that supplied through the Ukrainian and Hungarian pipelines.

By the way, what is happening with the much talked about Fiat deal? The only way Fiat will open in Serbia is if the Serbian government buys the bankrupt Italian firm and moves its production to Kragujevac.
