I think Serbia belongs to EU, but first must say NO to Mom Russia.

At the end must recognize all debt to the Rep. of Kosova and all other surrounding countries who suffered 4 wars.

I hope one day the EU Serbian dream come true.

RE: Czech Government Sell out

Overwelmingly, the majority of Czech citizens were agaist the recognition of the illegal state of Kosovo, the Czech government sold out on not only Serbia but its citizens and history.

The Czech Prime Minister Benes in 1938 was sold out of the Sudetenland by Western Europe and the Nazi's, the same has been done to Serbia and suprisingly the Slovaks learned the lessons of history, not the Czechs.

Monetenegro is a case of complete denial of Serbian heritage as they regonized Kosovo while part of Kosovo-Metohia is in current day Montenegro? How can you recognize Kosovo & Metohija, the Serbian history & culture lies in your own borders!

"Does this sound like someone admitting that the recognition was done because the Czechs like the Albanians or it was for the greater stability of the region?"

Who cares? They are slavs so they support Serbia. Plenty of non-Slavs (US, UK, Germany, France...) support us and they have the money and power so they force 'brothers to abandon brothers'

“It was a very difficult decision for us, but we realized that we had to go with the European flow. It was manifestly clear that we had to do it. And we did it fairly late, but we must respect that decision. We have quite a few of our people in Kosovo, which also had a bearing on our decision.

Does this sound like someone admitting that the recognition was done because the Czechs like the Albanians or it was for the greater stability of the region? Blatant arm-twisting if you ask me. How do the fellow k_alb posters feel that most states recognised due to US/German arm-twisting? I wonder why they would go out on a limb for the K-ALbanians. I'm wondering.

For Jovan:

The EU is the only organization capable of helping the countries of the Western Balkans to achieve economic well being. If Serbia wants economic prosperity then she must join the EU.

to be honest, I do not really like the way these "EUrocrats" are talking ( officially ).

Serbia IS a european country, even if not being a member-state of the EU...

always bear in mind, Mr.Schwarzen-whatever...

you don´t have to be a EU-member to be "european".

oh, and... better think of revoking that scandalous "recognition", ...either you decide for yourself, or you better admit not to be sovereign in regard to your "decisions".

To be sung to the tune of White Christmas:

I’m dreaming of a European Serbia
Just like the one I used to know.
But with Mladic hiding
And Holland chiding,
It’s like Waiting for Godot.

I’m dreaming of a European Serbia
With every petition I write
Though Jeremic wants to start a fight,
I see no firm commitment in sight.

"Putting the traditional friendship between Serbia and the Czech Republic to one side, I genuinely believe that Serbia is a country of key importance in the Balkans. Anyone who thinks peace and economic prosperity can be established in the Balkans without her is mistaken."

yup and i have the impression many of the people posting comments here still haven't really thought the matter through.

The EU must make cleat that it respects UN resolution. Including 1244.

The EU must embrace Serbia and respecting its territorial integrity.

So that means un-recognizing Kosovo and starting up real negatiations. And hey, if Serbia and Kosovo agree (!) to split, why not?

Serbia should be treated like any other state. Kosovo should be treated like any other province!

To all: welcome in Europe!
