I can answer that for you. This is by their own admission as I have read this on B92 responses from them before.

Since the beginning of 20th Century they were looking at taking Kosovo for themselves as they feel that they were robbed.

An opportunity did not present itself until after WW2. It was with Tito's help that they hopped over the border in great numbers while the Serbs were restricted from going back to Kosovo after the war ended. Watch a documentary called "Stolen Kosovo" which will explain in more detail.

High birth rates, illegal immigration and systematically terrorizing the Serbian population were the tools used to become 95% they are today.

A horrible and shameful history is what has got them to this point.

See my previous post, but Kosova was always ours, we didn't 'settle' it, or come another place. You don't see history showing Albanians migrating to the Balkans.

Yes, the "border-hopping" case. It was 100% impossible for East Germans, Hungarians, Russians/Soviets to hop the border to Jugoslavija. Not that many of us wouldn't want. The live in YU was a paradise compared even with the best country of COMECON (Hungary) and compared with others it was just unbelievable.

But there was a catch: no one could move in to that paradise. Every Hungarian or Soviet or East German who would try to stay in YU for more time than just a tourist could - would be sent back under police escort. Some used YU as a transit to flee to West - but to be honest many would rather stay because of proximity and other reasons. But they could not. Except refugees from ONE CERTAIN country. They could stay as much as they wanted and become YU citizens without much problems, they weren't extradicted ever.

A horrible and shameful history is what has got them to this point.

That's true but Peggy we need to also recognise our Serbian role. I'm not talking of any mistreatment towards the K-Albanians (They're just sooks) what I'm talking about is Serbian communists who subordinated Serbian interests not just in Kosovo but the whole of Yugoslavia for 'their' Communism and Titoism. They have achieved this 'stalemate situation' because Serb politicians let them. The party was more important to them then was Kosovo for the last 50 years. The Albanians made the best of the situation through the primitive means that you mentioned.
