I have to be honest, I laughed myself silly when I saw that footage. Now's a lucrative time to be a shoemaker in Iraq, and those shoes in particular will probably end up in some museum or whatnot.

But in all fairness, I have to hand it to my president for being as good natured about it. Had shoes been thrown at Gordon Brown or Sarkozy, there'd be endless footage of them showing outrage at the insult some little A-Rab gave to men of their stature.

Putin would probably have jumped the podium and judoed the guy to the ground.

Burlosconi would have thrown his own shoes back.

Seselj would have whipped out his gun.

Chavez would have claimed it a US-sponsored assassination attempt on him.

I suddenly am in search for the lyrics of that 1920s song "Give Me that Old Soft Shoe"

I think president bush was gaining his fame at the end of his presidency.President bush attacked in Iraq ignoring the permission of United
Nations.Though UN is one of the puppet of US. How could president Bush doing
this to Iraqi people?War is not a game.So he get his reward.I hope this will remembered by president bush until his death.I sellout to al-Zaidi.

Heroic certainly, but unforgiveable for missing.

Well, when looking at the footage it seems the aim was accurate if only Bush didn't move his head.

He would have scored if it was a side throw I think as Bush wouldn't see it coming. If that was the case, those shoes would be priceless and deserve to be put in a museum.

10 million? Put them on Ebay and lets see how much they fetch!

Maybe a risky idea. It could be worth less, than the Virgin Mary sandwich.

And I thought the Yankees were supposed to be the God-sent, all conquering heroes to their legions of star-struck, adoring Iraqi fans eternally grateful to be liberated by them? No? ...... actually if I were that reporter, I would have chosen something much harder than the shoes!
