Micheal John,

As Yugoslavia existed of 6 republics, there are only SIX countries in former Yugoslavia! You must have miscounted yourself!

"every one who wants to become independent"... does this include Croats and Serbs in Bosnia? Serbs in Kosovo? Albanians in Macedonia?

Tibetans in China?
Kurds in Iraq, Iran, Turkey and Syria?

And I don'tunderstand your last sentence (I am not a native speaker)

Greatins from Holland, a state, not a province!

Ron,

General Kermabon is absolutely spot on. He feels it is only right to speak to all seven countries that made up the former Yugoslavia. After all with the new reality and all, Serbs should learn to be good neighbors with the Albanians, Bosnians, Croats, Macedonians, Montenegrins, Slovenes and who ever else decides to become independent. BTW, your ever increasing shrill tone is music to my ears.

Jim Boles,

I fully agree with you. Stop this nonsense. Start building up an economy and a society.

Kosovo is part of Serbia. So what?! Parts of historical areas of Holland now lay in France. Do we send in the EU and UN to 'liberate' these areas? Nope!

Stop wasting time. Kosovo is part of Serbia. Like Tirol is part of Italy. Get a life, get happy and join EU!

As a Western European tax payer I am fed up with spending money on this Kosovo!

We intervened in 1999 to stop killings. Not to create a new state.

But hey, fortunately 1244 is still valid!

So is it a good thing to have law and order or not?

And if it is not currently present, wouldn't it be a good thing to try and achieve it?

And if so, why is it a problem? It seems that every time someone tries to take a step forward in fighting criminality, you guys want to moan about the colour of the office or say that because someone's uncle lived on the other side 250 years ago, everyhting should be stopped...

Art,

Not to insult you, but you comment made me laugh. You really believe what you are writing yourself?

Face te fact: Kosovo was and is a Serbian province. It was not a republic. Had it been a republic it could indeed have choosen to leave Yugoslavia.

Can't you simply accept that?

And also:

Kosovo economy is 10 times smaller (relatively) then Bulgaria. Stop dreaming about joining EU for the first 20 years!

"EULEX chief Yves de Kermabon says that this EU mission's office will open in Belgrade soon.

"We need ties with all the surrounding countries"

Wow is that one bold statement or what? How about the other one, who is he referring as a minority I wonder?

"He also said that his task is to establish the rule of law in Kosovo and that he will "try everything to achieve that, especially when it comes to minority communities".

Art,

You are wrong. EULEX cannot be a ''de-facto'' embassy of Kosovo. EULEX does not represent Kosovo and legaly cannot represent Kosovo.

I find it rather disturbing and somewhat strange that you indicate that EULEX is there to serve Albanians and their interests. We can both agree that such is simply absurd.

EULEX's 'rule of law' is based on the Kosovo Constitution and EULEX's office in Belgrade will be de facto Kosovo's embassy. These are good developments.
EULEX was present when UN handed over border customs to Kosovo Customs, thus it is only aiding Kosovo authorities which is essentially best for all who believe in the rule of law.

(1) Serbia is not 'another country'. Kosovo is part of Serbia.

(2) This is a good thing. It stresses that EULEX is not there for Kosovo independence. It is for rule of law. UN will deceide on independence or not.

In addition to all the human rights abuse and criminality I am sure he will be only too aware of the application of property rights for Decani monastery and all other lands across Kosovo & metohija that is legally and rightfully that of the Serbian Orthodox Church as well as all other Serbian citizens. I am certain they will be able to access the full plans at the cadastre offices in Belgrade and start cracking on with apply the law fully!
