Leonidas,

I totally agree with you. Bail-out, injecting taxpayers money would not help. It would be just a short-term political "band-aid" solution for 2-3 months. Bankruptcy, followed by true reorganization is the right solution.

Short-term political considerations always superceede long-term solutions.

It's not easy to decide destroying people's livelihood by letting the automobile industry going bust. But to just delay the reckoning by injecting taxpayers monies is not a solution either.Any bail-out will not resuscitate the car market nor will stop the massive lay-offs.

The Obama administration will have to decide about the
transport of the future, new fuel technologies and engineering infrastuctures which will create millions of new jobs in the construction and steel industries.

The US government has run out of money but are too proud to admit it ..... and no one is stupid enough anymore to lend them by buying more of their toxic financial instruments .... maybe the Yankees can ask Prisitna to pay them back the donation for the Kosovo Security Forces' new uniforms! That should help a bit ......
