Domestic currency slides again

After three days of gains against the euro, the Serbian dinar (RSD) lost 1.51 percent of its value on Thursday.

Maybe it is just me, but I find the logic in a sentence like "The central bank previously sought to stabilize the dinar by selling a total of EUR 806mn in the hard currency market" to be lacking.

I was to increase/strengthen the market value of something, I would go out and BUY UP that "something", e.g. Dinars, in order to reduce the amount of Dinars available on the free market. Yes, I would be using Euros (or some other currency) when I bought the Dinars, but that is not "selling Euros" - that is paying with Euros in order to buy Dinars.
