Political parties on EULEX deployment

While Serbian opposition parties oppose the deployment of EULEX, the ruling coalition says that EULEX will work in the best interests of the Kosovo Serbs.

Felix, this is not the only character which really eliminates the status neutrality of the mission. What do you (or anybody else) think which "law" will be enforced or coordinated by EULEX? Definitely not Serbian law, but laws issued by the Kosovo parliament. Practically, Serbia gave here the green light towards the Kosovo parliament and the UNSC confirms that. UNMIK will be downgraded to a pure monitor mission with no executive power. Alexander Ivanko, the spokesman of the UN in Pristina said:

"As of this morning, the United Nations Mission in Kosovo will no longer perform police or justice functions. We will remain here in a much downsized version, doing political monitoring and reporting."

I would call this reality.
