This statement is not quite correct for Kirill is just appointed "to watch the place" before within 6 months Saint Sinod will choose the 16-th Head of the Chirch.

Anyway this is a very sad page in the Russian history cause Alexy II meant too much for most of us ...

Great man, And he was a good example, someone can be a German-Estonian (with family name 'Ridiger', presumably: Rüdiger, of German origin) and pretty much a Russian at the same time. Similarly, a great part of Russian nobility was as Russians say "Черногорец" by origin. It was actually kind of honor to get married into "Черногорец" family. The famous Count Михаил Андреевич Милорадович is a good example. Poor Miloradovich probably turns in his grave now because of his nation's disgrace called "milo djukanovic". :(

I would contradict you Rote K and say that B92's formulation is quite correct.
The title is "locum tenens" which is "place holder/keeper", someone that temporarily takes on the duties of the regular/principal. So "interim" sounds quite ok for me.
