Amen, mr. zivkovic, amen. probably he and cedi remain closest to djindjic's ideas -- certainly not tadic.

and i agree, the assassination had a traumatic effect on serbia and the balkans, as, in some ways, rabin's assassination (1995) had a traumtic effect on israel and esp.ly the peace process. who knows how things would have moved had these leaders lived -- perhaps very different, perhaps not. we'll never know.

What is Živković going on about again? The EU is just as corrupt as any other government organization. Politically responsible who the EU? Hahahaha....ya right!

The EU will solve nothing in Serbia this much I promise you. I said in another post yesterday maybe if we joined in the 90's things would be different but now every year that goes by the EU shows how dysfunctional it really is and how fast it is loosing its glamor. By 2014 no good will come from joining the EU. Serbia has to stop focusing on the EU and start focus on its self.

Oh the Serbian voters did get the voting wrong..did they ever... They should have voted for DSS lead by intellectuals such as Kostunica and not DS thieves or SRS nut jobs, frankly both are terrible in their own unique way.

'Had they voted in the radicals this past spring I think that the country would have been better off, certainly less corrupt. '

It really concerns me to think that people believe this after SRS splitting up. Do people truly believe that Seselj / Nikolic / Seselj three headed beast would have lasted more than a couple of months? We saw what happened already, if Nikolic had left the radicals the government would have collapsed within weeks. If he had stayed in SRS one can only imagine the disagreements going on behind the scenes, that is no way to run a government.

This government has problems but it is preferable to an SRS one any day of the week. The new SNS party is a different proposition though. They actually have constructive ideas and policies, even if I don't agree with them.

Very good point milos obilic...all the radicals do is complain...but where are their plans? I think DS is doing a fine job, considering the toug predicament that they find themseleves in.

Well nothing new here. One can easily extrapolate from Jeremic's latest tantrums that Serbia expects the EU to do all the work and give EU membership to Serbia on a platter.

It's a continuation of the old game in the region of playing off both sides. It may be good for Serbia in the short term though I do not think that they can maintain it as well or as long as Tito did.

Even sitting as far away as Canada, it's difficult to see how you can honestly believe that Serbia would be more prosperous under the Radicals, who don't have a single economic policy between all of them. As for whether there would be less corruption, I think there would be just as much, just with different people benefiting. You're Canadian, so you wouldn't remember how Zemun was run in the 1990s, but if you did you might not be so quick to jump to these conclusions.

The Serbian public that voted for this Tadic must be wonder what the hell they were thinking now?

Had they voted in the radicals this past spring I think that the country would have been better off, certainly less corrupt.

The Serbian people deserve what they have for a government and only have themselves to blame.
