The Hague Tribunal prosecution does not wish to state its position on Radovan Karadžić’s request for the court to pay for the preparation of his defense.

Given the success of Oric and Haradinaj with expensive lawyers Karadzic has a point.
The ICTY and its prosecution may actually like the outcome. With an experienced lawyer at Karadzic side they will see less reason to complain than with Milosevic about irrelevant statements.

The most important principle in these kind of trials is the principle of "equality of arms". If the defense is not given the same resources as the prosecution, then the principle of "equality of arms" is broken and the whole trial can be declared illegal!
I do not defend Karadzic, but I think it is important that the trial is fair and sheds light on the Bosnian war and what really happened. I am not interested in propaganda from any side, but in the facts.
