Niall, actually I am not suprised. I am delighted.

as for Broz: he was an enemy of the serbian poeple. cutting Serbia into three parts... was a crime against so many international standards...

but he was a dictator in ridiculously looking phantasy-uniforms with big cigars...

a joke on two legs.

nothing to be remembered.

Jovan,

You should not be surprised at the support that Serbia is receiving from the Arab world. There are a number of valid reasons for this.

1) YU was an integral part of the Non-Aligned Movement and had strong diplomatic and economic links with the Arab world thanks to Tito. Yugoslav engineers and doctors went to the Middle East where those links were cemented. All Mr Jeremic had to do was dust off the old diary & Fanny's your aunt.

2) Many Arab states are mindful of the implications of a potential Pandora Box that Pristina's UDD could open, e.g. Kurds and Sunni-Shia division in Iraq, Syria, Iran etc. Not to mention Mauritania and Morrocco's own dispute with the POLISARIO in the Western Sahara. Need I also mention Sudan with Darfur and its black Christian south as well as Libya with its past border disputes with Chad. You get the picture.

3) Many in the Arab world see 'the Republic of Kosova' for what it really is, the very epitome and cornerstone of Western imperialist agression, hypocrisy and double standards. Many of the Arab and Muslim states rightly point out the inconsistency of the argument employed by the West in granting and recognising the independence of the K-Albanians yet when it comes to the Palestinian people (who do have a genuine grievance) they have been denied such recognition by the West for over 60 years.

So next time you curse the legacy of Mr Broz, remember that dusty old diary sitting in Vuk's office.

Crafty old bugger huh!

the position of the spanish republic is already known...

but what is quite a nice thing to see... is that just another islamic country shows it´s maturity towards international law and questions of territorial sovereignty.

Mr.Obama will find it difficult to support the K-albanians in order to show the islamic world that the US are not against Islam...

my honest respect to the Syrian state and greetings to the poeple of Syria!
