Priština daily: Kosovo victory in UN

The thing is: 1244 is still valid. Meaning: Kosovo is a Serbian province governed by the UN.

The UN delegates practical issues to EU but UN is still in charge.

So Albanians, maybe it is time to accept the facts: Kosovo is located in Serbia.

I think that Serbia has been fooled once again. just like with resolution 1244. Kosovo declared its independence and is reconized by 52 countrys. Resolution 1244 diden't stop this from happening. This six-point plan will not either.

Now when Eulex is on the ground in the whole territory of Kosovo Serbs can no longer claim for Kosovo partition. That's why US and Uk have agreed on this six-point plan.

You see Ron Kosovo is not located in Serbia. Kosovo is a country located near Serbia. A neighbouring country in other words.

As for res 1244 it is nothing. It diden't stop the Kosovars from declaring it's independence. Or forming it's own constutuion, instutuions,police force, laws and an army soon. Wich ''province'' got an own army Ron ? Or an own president and a goverment ?


This six-points plan is just a scenari to fool Serbia and Russia to accept Eulex at the UN. Just like they fooled you with res 1244 and created a country named Kosova. This is what Kostunica sayes and in this matter I have to agree with him.


You can still belive that Kosovo os a province of Serbia but reality on the ground shows that it isn't that way. There is no Serbian mayor neither in Mitrovica or Prishtina. There is no serbian police patroling the streets of Kosovo. There is no Serbian armybases in Kosovo. What country dosen't got a defense-system for it's territory ? Kosovo goverment is forming that defense now with help of Nato and US.


For many years some albanians got them self serbian passports for travelling outside the country. Now Europe dosent accept Kosovo citizens with those passports anymore. The reson for that is simple. Citys like for example Prishtina and Mitrovica are not in Serbia. There for those passports that are serbian with stands the city of prishtina aren't valid. Dosen't this mean that Kosovo is in real reality independent from Serbia ? Dependet on the world but not Serbia.

I don't understand some Albanian posters here (Alban, EA, Maks,Olf, miri, lili, Ilir,Adam etc.).
They promised in last couple of days that it will never happen that they will accept Belgrade-UN Six Point Plan and that will never work for Albanians in Kosovo - we're indjependent - 95% etc. - with vigorous threats. And they said - if that happen that means WAR. That's what above mentioned posters exactly said.

And now - what's unexpected here - just logical results of above threats and frustration - remember last week demonstration against Balgrade-UN six point plan.
Hundred thousands were protesting and promising it will never be accepted and it can't be forced on Albanians - including same Thaci and Sejdiu.

Some did what they say and promised to do. Others denied and blame Slobo and his propaganda and some on this side turned back to say - accepting Six Point Plan is the best thing that happen to Kosova - indjependence they had before yesterday is nothing - this one from today and forever is even bigger, newer and ...Please make your mind, back-up your previous thoughts and be consistent.

In the last few decades I have witnessed many historical victories declared in Serbian newspapers. Now it seems to be a Kosovo turn to achieve their share of victories.

The Albanian Press can spin this however they like but the bottom line is that Serbias 6-Point plan will be implemented.

Not sure if this can be called a victory by either side. The only victory Kosovo can claim is the fact that EULEX (mentioned by Ahtisari) has been established. Of course, EULEX is neutral, no one expected to be different because Kosovo has not been recognized by UN. There is one thing I have to say to Mr. Jeremic, tha you can put lipstick on a pig, it is still a pig (of course i refere to 6 points)

Yes, Kosova had a major victory after victory and this was one of the biggest one.
As Russian saying is:

"Чем бы дитя ни тешилось, лишь бы не плакало"

(rough translating: it does not matter, what the small child does do to entertain himself, what important is, he is not crying. Or: "let's call it a victory, if they are happy and not throw a grenade or two on a church".)

Agreed.
In reality it is the big powers that run the show and in turns claim their victories.
Of course whatever happens in this part of the world, will take shape in the contest a bigger picture, but the people in the region will only be able to claim their victory when this victory will not be a defeat for other people in the same region. For that to happen, the politicians on both side of the fence will need to reach a certain degree of maturity so their decisions will not be based squarely on the swinging moods of the big powers but on the actual needs of the people.
That my friend, remains to be seen.

I believe the serbs and the albanians alike have a lot of things to learn. Both sides are claiming international victories and the support of major powers. The fact is that Russia and the US don't give a damn about anyone else but themselves. They are using other people and nations as bricks in a much bigger game. Just like they did during the cold war. Before the Kosovo conflict serbs and albanians were actually good neighbors. Perhaps they didn't love eachother but it was possible to live together. Since the internationals came into the picture the hatered between
serbs and albanians have never been worse. During this conflict EU/Russia/US have changed positions regarding Kosovo and they will sertainly continue to do so if it fits their agenda. They are doing what is good for themselves and not the people who live in these areas. Belieave me, if they wanted a real and fair solution for Kosovo one would be presented a long time a go. We are just bricks in the game!

Well, i think both sides should be happy now.

Why the spin, Pristina knows they were tossed under the bus and now blame the UN and the EU it is always someone else's fault. We will never accept 6 point plan that was agreed upon between the UN, EU and SERBIA and not kosovo. This Finnish guy's plan is null and void. Did they mention this in Kosovo report nope so somebody wasted money to pay mr artashari to produce a fair plan yeah right. Now you see where your support went don't say England was with you and just because the representive said they did not like the plan she voted for it. Get your head out of the sand and try to make kosovo a better place for all. Leave these factions that threatend violence in the hills where they belong.

1244 was temporary, but serbia still clamours for it so eulex is based on 1244,and albanians can just go ahead and continue to ignore all the 1244 stuff. and eulex is now supposed to be temporary too.

so with 1244, serbs were in fact urged to actively resist participation... but now with eulex, wich is essentially more of the same 1244 limbo, not only are serbs going to cooperate..they will do so knowing belgrade has given the nod even though its the same 1244 limbo that they were resisting before... what?

so albanians can rage that nothings changed, and serbs can now be... happy and cooperative now that nothings changed for them? what?

and all the while, nothing prevents new countries from recognizing kosovo...who now has a more cooperative serb population... what?
