Fas and others: if the West gets a cold, the East get pneumonia. They depend on the west to sell their products and raw materials. What happened to oil prices? China is closing tens of 1000's of factories due to slow demand, and riots are expected.

Everyday I read here on B92 how "everyone" (Hungary, France, Italy, etc.) wants to speed Serbia's entry into the EU. Yet, the EU and EP are saying that it will be a long road for Serbia before final membership is approved, leaving open the probability of further demands by the EU for Serbia. Is the EU "country club" REALLY the solution to all of Serbia's economic woes??? Somehow, especially with the global financial meltdown hitting the West so dramatically, wouldn't it be better to enter the EU on Serbia's terms and timetable? I don't understand the apparent urgency of the EU countries towards Serbia, yet their many conditions and future conditions- what a paradox!!! The Serbian nation, with it's unique position between the East and the West, should cooperate, yet benefit from both worlds....choosing their own path at their own speed. I get very suspicious of anyone, or any organization, which "places demands" and "urgency" on others. For whose real benefits???

There is no need to hurry anchluss to €U, if you think your only option is hell, why walk straight to it?

€U has eaten more than it can chew, poked it´s neo liberal nose were it don´t belong and will eventually and pretty soon collapse (like mr.Creosote in that monthy pyton movie with Serbia as the thin mint-cake)when it´s time for Serbias head to be severed in it. Let them dig their graves and let´s walk eastwards!

Join EU? Why bother? It may not happen for at least another 10+ years, by then the economy, world power, and the politics will change drastically...
Serbia work towards your economy and for your people and your country - EU is dangling a carrot in front of you... however keep saying you are all for the integration to appease the EU members

Mircea you're a funny one.

But you won't be laughning when Albania enters by 2014-15

Don't look at the standards, rather listen to Luigi. Balkan countries need sponsors from within the EU.

Macedonia-2015
Serbia-2017
Bosnia- 2020
Albania- 2050

I still repeat my old question about Eu membership...
Who is the "main" sponsor for Serbia ? ...without it Serbia will be forever at the doorsteps...
