Terrorists only understand force,our police and army though are well equipped and will respond quickly to any possible attacks in order to ensure the safety of all citizens in the Vranje valley,be they Serbs or Albanians.
The Albanian extremists must know that they will be taught a lesson they will never forget if they only dare to attack our soldiers.

This is exactly the ype of language which will help reconciliation. Call Albanians terrorists, separatists, and raiders. He makes threats as if we are still in 1992. I guess he has not learned that despite how strong and mighty Serbia appears to be, it is still no match for NATO bombs.

I read your posts thoroughly, and now I would like to respond to them in a concise but direct way.

First, you allege that in a "un-meddled" war, Serbia would drive the Albanians to the Adriatic. This statement fails to take into account a simple fact. Serbia's war against Albanians in 1997-1999 was a war against the civilian "separatist" population of Kosova and against a guerrilla force which sprung from that population. It was not a war against another state, with an organized army. You better win a war against civilians and whatever weapons they muster to smuggle in. The only war against another country with an organized army that Serbia has ever won, was against Croatia (although they had just formed a country and their army was pretty hastily put together), and we know what the result of that war was...
Also note, that in today's modern world, wars are rarely fought directly. Most of the time, some sort of military alliance is involved, where smaller states depend on larger ones for their security. In that respect, I remind you that Albania, along with Croatia was invited to join NATO at the Bucharest convention, and will be a full member in 2009, with more than half the NATO members having already ratified the necessary documentation. So I ask that you reconsider your decision again.

Second, I have to address your views on the US administration. I don't know where you are from, but I live in NYC. I am an Albanian-American, and I voted for Barack Obama. Although McCain was a fervent Albanian supporter, I cast my vote for Obama with the full belief that he would support the Albanian cause wholeheartedly too. And I have to say that so far I have not been disappointed. His choice for VP, Joe Biden, a proven supporter of Albanians made my day. Choosing Hillary Clinton as his Secretary of State, and Richard Holbrooke and Madeline Albright as foreign relations advisers was an even stronger indication of what the US policy in the Balkans will likely be like. I hate to disappoint you, but you should not be looking to America for any hope for your beloved country of Serbia. Unfortunately for Serbia, Albanians, in both sheer numbers as well as lobbying power, outnumber any Serb efforts by a mile.

Third, I would like to briefly address your demographics argument. You claim that there are more Serbs than Albanians in the Balkans, and that this means an automatic victory for Serbia. While this argument is naive at best, I would like to query the fact that Milosevic's sole argument against the Albanians in 1989 was what he called "demographic genocide". If the Serbs are so dominant in terms of population birthrate against the Albanians, why then was he so concerned?

I wish you a happy Thanksgiving, and urge you to consider the above points in writing your views in the future.

Serbia is developing in a direction that works in the interest of NATO, too. but, the main thing is, Kosovo is serbian territory, and this will remain so, ...and you will be told to accept it, but very likely not by the Serbs, but by your "friends" that you are so proud of... =)
