Its simple. You had a mission, UN who one way or the other saw Kosova as pre 1999, which was really good for Serbia. Now that mission is being replaced by EU who really don't care weather Serbia thinks it has sovereignty over Kosova or not. I'm surprised you Serbs see this as a victory.
On the other side this is certainly not the best we asked for, but then again we didn't ask for UN to be in Kosova either in 1999 and things slowly moved our way. We wanted outright independence. UN made sure we got that slowly. Now we have majority of EU following the Ahtisari plan, sending a mission stating they don't care about both Serbia's views on Kosova and Ahtisari plan. I have a slight feeling that like the UN mission they will slowly implement the Ahtisari plan. These missions are simply sent to slow things down, so that Serbs don't start another war. The spoiled child of Europe (Serbia), has to be lured slowly away from denial. That's the whole philosophy behind these missions I think. No matter how I don't agree with Kostunica, I think he has it right.
And of course you have to expect complaints on our side. That is how it works in diplomacy. You ask six and u get three. We're applying the same tactic. Refuse all and by the end get 3 point out of those six points out.

It is obvious the U.S. is trying to distance itself from this Balkan mess they created, typical State Department action, be it Central America, Middle East, and now the Balkans. America is too broke now, and desperately wants to toss this Balkan "Hot Potato" to the EU.

The result of real indjependence - and protests of 2.5M - in Pristina - and desparate rethoric of some kids on this site - but they are right - "the youngest inexperienced-dreamers in Europe" - agree with this point.
Whole world (UN, EU and US)will put in report that Pristina's officials don't agree (big deal) and plan will go through as announced anyway.
And at some point they will give some update to same Pristina's official how plan is progressing (to keep US and UK happy - formality).
"Kosovo never can be pressed by anybody - it's really independent" - ya, how even countries who recognised UDI - don't get it - OR they finally get the reality, but only one left not understanding are some kids on this site - still riding some false euforia based on empty promises and trying trading the others property.

Again, Kosovo enjoyed the most independence first six months - and they will always remembered it - but you don't live only from memories and dreams.

But, Serbia will never control the south - so need to talk - partition for sure, but more than autonomy - less than independence - probably - will see.?

"the U.S., UN and the EU in order for Priština to "in some form" accept the Ban six-point formula for EULEX deployment."
- i.e. Sediju and Thaci have been told to o as the US & EU say - so much for inependence!!!

"U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Daniel Fried ...."all sides" are looking for an agreement to allow UNMIK's activities and EULEX's "

i.e. EULEX has to be mandated by the UN which means Serbia decides if this happens irrespective of what Sediju and Thaci say - so much for illegal UDI its surely becoming clear to many the State they are in!!!

Oh what a tangled web the US illegally weave and poor advice they give to Thaci and Sediju regarding the State they are in...

..in the meantime Serbia contines to deepen its institutions across the whole of its UN recognised province.
