The question that should be asked is why are NGOs allowed to participate in protests against any government or political decision. Non Government
Organizations that are funded with donations to serve the community. All of their charters and funding should be pulled. Of course, then the unemployment rate would rise even greater. Get a real job and protest on your own time...

Why do people have Albanians flags if the country is Kosovo?

(disclaimer: yes, of course, Kosovo is part of Serbia. But for those pretending it to be independent, why use the flag of an other country?)

"Around 5,000 Albanians" -this number is made up by serb media for sure i know for a fact there are more than 30000 or more but 5,000? its purely propagantic number by whoever said in serbia.

Iowe, I wish you EU and US people stop mentioning this "taxpayers" argument. Who said that we want your taxes in the first place? Second, why you always talk about your taxes being misspent but you never talk about international corruption in Kosova? Why you never mention how our resources are being exploited by internationals in cooperation with corrupted local leaders? It is a typical example of neo-colonial case. Remember the german, Joe Truschler who diverted 3.5 milion euros to his account? Or the American Steven Schook who was forced to leave Kosovo due to corruption allegations from the UN? Get some facts straight.

Alban don't forget about those Kosovo albanians who also lined there pockets, KEK, Vala900 and other companies as well. Don't blame the foreigners it takes a bribe just to get a document stamped and if not then you have to wait 6 months or 1 hour for 100 euros. Lets get the story right

Even though I like Kurti I think people shouldn't protest anymore.

The government of Kosova has spoken and there will be a plan that will be approved by Prishtina and Brussels only.

This time Belgrade won't be let to interfere in neighbouring country.

B92 please tell the truth in here because 5000 people is ridiculus. It's not 1998-99.
Year has changed so I expect you to change as well.

I heard China and India are joining in just after midnight so you can now expect 2.5 billion.

The Albanians really need to block this EU mission from deploying into Kosovo. They are a bunch of trouble makers who will end up putting all of the Albanian criminals in jail.

Ever wondered why they are sending police, judges and prison guards? Even Thaci understands the risks but listen here my Albanian friends, this EU mission will enforce the partition in the north. So do not, I repeat do not allow this mission to deploy ever. It is a trap - let them in and you can say good bye to the north now and the south later.

Many months ago I stated that Kurti has a good future in Kosovo politics - provided he is not assasinated by rival Kosovo Albanian politicians, who are more scared of his potential than even the internationals are.

And to a degree he is right of course. Where I part company with Kurti is his nationalism.
(bganon, 19 November 2008 19:12)

Mr. Kurti has all moral rights. His hands have no stain of blood, no stain of money. He is intelligent. Where, indeed I disagree with him is precisely his nationalism. I tend to think, it could change for better - Mr. Kurti (as politician) is pretty young. He has a very promising future.

It does not matter how many people attended. The importance of this event exceeds the number of demonstrators. Furthermore, the message was clear and was recognized by Athens. Greek foreign minister Dora Bakoyannis acknowledged the reality in Kosovo and expressed the view of his country, which is that they will recognize the Republic of Kosovo very soon.
It doesn’t happen often, but the patience shown by us, the citizens of Kosovo is to be admired. We have come together as a people with one voice, and I have never been more proud to call myself a Kosovar.

Well I don't know where B92 gets their figures from, but lets not get over excited about this.

As some Albanian participants might suspect this is evidence that B92 is trying to show that Albanian sentiment is not that strong, I would state that it could be eqally true that by underplaying numbers at the protest could help Kosovo independence. The international community does not want problems to deal with and it is starting to look to them like Kosovo Albanians are as much of a problem as Serbs are.

As far as this type of protest and Kurti is concenred I have to say 'I told you so'. Many months ago I stated that Kurti has a good future in Kosovo politics - provided he is not assasinated by rival Kosovo Albanian politicians, who are more scared of his potential than even the internationals are.

And to a degree he is right of course. Where I part company with Kurti is his nationalism. Other than that his world view is not so bad. He is against corruption (Albanian, Serb or international), he is for social justice and is against a rich clique of oligarchs running things.

Yes, Mr Kurti needs to watch himself. I doubt that internationals would miss him much were he not on the political scene any more.

Those that didn't take him seriously before may find that events have changed the nature of the game.

There is a difference between EU and EU Mission.

- EU - The European Union (EU) is a political and economic union of 27 member states, located primarily in Europe.

- EU Mission = EULEX - The European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo, EULEX Kosovo, is a planned deployment of European Union (EU) police and civilian resources to Kosovo. This mission is invited to deploy in Kosovo by the Kosovo Government, in accordance with Ahtisaari plan.

Albin is against the Ahtisaari plan and for unconditional independence, thus against EULEX.
