And between you and me, I really feel that Feta is a world heritage monument of its own :)
(Nikitas, 12 November 2008 17:43)

There is no dispute about it. If anyone sees in PS an American car which is full of cheese, that's me.

Ataman,
there is not going to be any kind of war about feta.
These are solved and already decided issues, that can only be reversed under extremely strethced situations, which frankly I cant see the coming.
Feta isnt just a cheese product. Feta is a traditional product and it is protected as such. The production is also traditional and is also protected as such. So noone else can actually claim anything on that. Its like someone claiming ownership of Parthenon. That can ever happen. That is a symbol of Greece and as such is treated and also as a world cultural heritage monument.
And between you and me, I really feel that Feta is a world heritage monument of its own :)

Noone can start a war on that and if they do, they will soon lose it. Unless they use it political which will be an even greater mistake.

ight now Albanians can only have a "BIG say" about how much they can earn in a Greek factory, restaurant, shop or farm.
(Peter Sudyka, 12 November 2008 11:35)

Soon, there will be a big cheese war, Peter. As you may know, Greece successfully did lobby in the EU, only they may label "Feta" cheese as "Feta". Bulgarians are already unhappy about it - they have to use "Sirene" label. Numerous feta producers in Germany and Danemark have tough time. But there was very little contest within EU because at the time it was decided, Bulgaria was not there yet and we can't speak about FYROM, Albania, Serbia/Kosovo yet.

These times will come and there for sure will be a new cheese-war with Albos (and Serbs) having much to say. Because they still label all local produce "Feta" and it's not a single bit worse than the Greek version. Same with olives. I smell some wine-olives-cheese war and there will be some "BIG say" on all sides.

Thank god, a much better thing than the bio-fuel corn insanity, may Western Balkans never see it.

Right now the Albanians should stop threatening countries that are far more developed and prosperous than Albania and Kosovo and actually try to get themselves out of the third world and into the first world if they ever want to integrate into Europe.

BTW. Greece, proportionately speaking, has one of the most powerful armies in Europe. Albania and Kosovo do not even have armies or money to arm them. Start there if you want to live your big dream, because right now Albanians can only have a "BIG say" about how much they can earn in a Greek factory, restaurant, shop or farm.

Off-topic: did not dare with Kosovo because of the fear, the manifestation of Albanian democracy (see village-bey) won't withstand the long drive and I forgot the cooling bag. But one day before going back to BP I visited the "Metro" store in Belgrade and bought 7.5 kg of pure Serbian democracy. Thank the cooling bag, no problem. The customs were shocked to see, what was the "contraband" but did not give me hard time.

Next time will not forget the cooling bag going south.

Yes, if you have enough cheese in refrigerator, you can have as many kids as you like. Once immigrating to USA, we from East or Central Europe can successfully compete with Albanians. And we DO!!!

comment no.1 says it all! that´s the problem in the balkans, ...some kids who dream to be somebody, to have a "BIG" say...

kid, go and learn something, educate yourself in order to feed your family some day, ...instead of dreaming this nonsense...

Hey old man, are you still here telling us what to do?
Why don't you just do all us a favor and stop being a burden to your family and the others.

Serbia should really stick with Greece because they are the only people who are and would propably not recognise us, until we get on our feet and they start to realise that there are 6m Albanians in balkan.
we are going to have a BIG say in south and west balkan then they become fetta cheese just like they did with turkey.
