"The IMF is not demanding anything from us"

Hahahaha! IMF is notorious (and truly hated) all over the world for it's iron clad conditions. Only out of desperation nations ask them for help. So, don't trust this guy.

ZK, You know that Germany alone has given Serbia over $1 Billion in aid sine Slobodan was removed from power? How much has China or Russia given you?

The IMF always has conditionalities attached to their loans. The guy being interviewed is wrong to say that the IMF does not want anything... it always demands certain things to take place in order to get funding. This has caused our economy to go insane in the 1980s, with hundreds of thousands of layoffs, initiating the fall of the former Yugoslavia. Not only has the IMF hurt us in the past, but it has done more harm to the world than good. Its policies are failures, and most countries in Latin America have realized this and moved on from it. It's time that we do the same and instead seek loans from friendlier countries like Russia or Venezuela, not this institution that has a bad record.

Guys, don't think that my proposal regarding loans was a serious possibility but if I'm not mistaken, Serbia is close to US$100 billion in debt already so it probably wouldn't need too much western funds to bring it to the required level.

If the West capitulates and the East offers Serbia financial support while allowing it to default on its Western loans as compensation for the illegal destruction done during the late 90s then why not?

But like I said, what's the possibility of this happening? Not very likely of course but you never know.

'Also, with regard to loans, Serbia should gather around US$100 billion from the West and then default.'

Not a good idea at all ZK. The first thing that would happen is that Serbia would be relegated to the lowest credit rating and a high risk country rating. No other countries would bother investing and as you can see for yourself there is plenty in Serbia that needs investment.

Besides, I don't think any country would lend USD 100 billion in this economic climate.

I don't know why intervention on the Dinar is needed. Let it fall as it is still reasonably priced and a weaker Dinar should help the economy.

Also, with regard to loans, Serbia should gather around US$100 billion from the West and then default. We can then call it even for the illegal destruction they committed on our territory.

ZK BG,

HaHa Ha! The US is not so stupid as to loan Serbia $100 Billion. No one owes Serbia anything. Serbia's destruction was her own making. Therefore, don't expect the West to pick up the tab because of Serbia's own stupidity in starting trouble and then getting punished for it.
