The EU will make an exception on Kosovo you say? Here is a nice article showing exactly what the EU thinks of Kosovo:

The think the EU wants to make an exception for this?

Kostunica & his political clique slowed down all the processes towards the EU canditate status of Serbia. one has just to look back to the last 12 months ... Serbia moved backwards under his unfortunate leadership.

it's up to Serbia only and until now there was no referendum, where the citizens of Serbia were asked cleary whether they would like to join the EU or not. until this referendum is done, all the arguments pro and contra EU are worthless.

I believe that being in the EU is not worth it because they will never be satisfied and to go to war for somebody's interests ?

No one in EU /EC sees Albanians as Muslims, but nice try. Turkey has different problems with extremism and the military, not to mention that they will be 100 million people in 10-15 years. Albania is doing (or trying) whatever EU does, Serbia is allying with Russia and against EU

Serbia will NEVER get in unless they admit what they did (not 'Milosevic maybe did some bad things'). They are 28 members and some 35 chapters and each can be blocked or delayed.

80% of NATO and EU, and 100% of G7 have recognized Kosova, so it a done deal. Those countries don't flip flop for no reason, and they knew about Kosova long before they decided to support independence.

Here is a hint: be nice to Croatia, the 28th EU member. You will need their vote some 35 times.

For Serbia to join the EU it has and it will be always conditions. That is the truth,as some of the Serb posters here on B92 suggest. First it has to hand over all war crimes suspects. And then EU might come up with another condition.Do any of the Serb posters have any suggestions if any at all? I have one. A full Serbian state apology to the victims of the wars conducted and waged by the Serbian state. It might be one or more conditions and that is my honest opinion.

Time to transfer Mladic over to Russia so Serbia never joins the EU. There is no point joining a club that wants to chop off your arm, stab your heart and put a leash around your neck.

Mladic once again is protecting Serbians simply by remaining free.

First the ratification of the Lisbon Treaty by all the EU's members must be signed before any new countries are allowed to join the EU. This is the first thing to overcome.

How could "Kosova" join the EU when its not even a country???

Kosovo province might join as a apart of Serbia though.

For Albania and Turkey there will be no membership. The western EU are way to rasistic and afraid to let muslim countries into the EU.
If you doubt me, just look at Turkey, they have been a candidate country for many years now, despite that there are not even a timeplan for them.

And mircea, of the countries you mention, only Serbia, Croatia and Montenegro will join the EU.
Fyrom will be vetoed by Greece and split up between Skopjeans and albanians.

Bosnia will also split up and the citizens there take Serbian or Croatian citizenship so no need for EU there.

First end 2008, then beginning 2009, then mid 2009, then end 2009, now maybe in 2009... lets stop letting them pull us by the nose, at least pass the laws to enable free trade and investment so that it won't really matter if they will ever let us in really...

I think that everyone must read carefully what are the conclusions of EC commission..
Really they are very...cold to say the least...
only Croatia has received a time table..(for 2011 and with a lot of if ..), the other have received only words and smiles...
i accept bets , but for me in 2015 the EU will be made by max 20 countries.. and for 2020 they will drop to 13-15...

Albanese

Mircea, Serbia and Kosova will enter at the same time so Kosova isn't blocked. By the time Serbia is ready 2015 IF they do everything required, Albania and Bosnia will be ready too. Bosnia might be let in a year before and then Albania, Serbia and Kosova in one shot. Kosova will have a poor economy for EU but it's only 2 million people so EU will make an exception.

The countries of the Western Balkans will join the EU in the following order:

1. CROATIA
2. MONTENEGRO
3. MACEDONIA
4. SERBIA
5. ALBANIA
6. BOSNIA
7. KOSOVO
