Bad Gorilla,

If Serbia truly lost Kosovo as you say, then why is EULEX asking for Serbia's permission to deploy? Why all this recent talk by EU officials and the UN that Eulex must be "status neutral" and operate within the confines of UNSC res. 1244? Why are UN officials suggesting administrative partition (which invites Serbia back into Northern Kosovo) between Serbs and Albanians? Why is the UN asking the World Court to debate the legallity of the KLA's UDI, instead of making Kosovo a UN memeber? Why is it that over 2/3 of the worlds nations, representing
80% of the world's pupulation, refuse to recognise your illegal UDI?

Serbia has not lost anything.
Your UDI remains illegal, and this is why Kosovo isn't going anywhere without Serbia.

“Someone needs to tell them the world has moved on and the Ahtisaari plan is long buried.”

No way... the Nobel-prize-winner plan is just being adapted. Russia tried to stop the independence of Kosovo, but it did not succeed indeed, since the United States and most of EU and NATO recognized Kosovo as an independent nation.

And Kosovo was recognized with the same borders of old 1945-1991 Socialist Autonomous Province of Kosovo.

The game is over, Serbia lost Kosovo and it should ackowledge that.

Partition is the only way if the international community wants to solve the issue of Kosovo and move on. That way many Serbs would feel they got rid of a big economic and political problem.

I don't understand why Kosovo of today must claim bigger territory than Mussolini in WWII, when the border between greater Albania and Serbia went just north of Pristina.

Pejoni - Whatever the "people" want is irrelevant. Kosovo Albanians don't have the military strength to take the north by force, and even if they did, they would be immediately condemned by the whole world. The last thing the US want is another war in the region - they have what they want - a big base in the Balkans. They'll leave Serbia and the ALbanians to squabble. Why should they care?

Besides, you're behind the curve. Serbia realises it cannot use military force to achieve what it wants in front of the world's eyes. Trying to impose your will on the Serbs in the north by force will only play into Serbia's hands. Be my guest - ATTACK.

One way or another you'll be forced into sceeding control of the north in return for recognition by Serbia for the south. If that doesn't happen then Kosovo will remain in permanent limbo, with no EU entry and hence no investment. The EU don't want that to happen so you'll be forced, ultimately to negotiate the north away.

And no, southern Serbia won't be in the pot for discussion. The EU and the US have already said that southern Serbia is exactly that - southern Serbia. You don't have any leverage!!!

It is obvious to any OBJECTIVE observer that the Albanians and Serbs will need neutral administrators in their respective zones for the next 100 years.Serbs administer their areas along with assistance from Greek,Romanian,Slovak,Russian and any other international personnel from countries which will never recognize the Albanian UDI.If any person in Kosovo calls for armed force to be used against any other group then that person should be branded a sadist and sent to Guantanamo Bay where meat cock sandwiches are happily administered by the American soldiers from the Appalachian Mountains.Harold and Kumar anybody?

Administrative separation is already on its way. No doubt the enclaves will in some form have to cooperate with EULEX, but the North is firmly on its own. I completely understand the Albanian wish not to be governed by Serbs, but they need to understand the Serbs feel the same about them. This is basically what Tadic and Co. have in mind with an ICJ ruling. I'd recommend looking at Bosnia to get a good idea what Kosovo's future will look like.

Prishtina have sacrificed enough with signing Ahtisaari's plan, no more conditions will be allowed and the ppl fully support it.

To the dismay of the K-Albanians, its just a technical issue, which will be resolved shortly. But in the end, Kosovo-Metohija will be divided on an adminstrative line and in enclaves. The two parts will function separatly in all spheres - its already defacto partitioned, as the Serbs will never be governed by the illegal regime in Pristina, regardless of what the bankrupt empire of broken dreams across the atlantic wants to say.

"For us, it is important that EULEX be deployed in Kosovo as soon as possible, all in keeping with the Ahtisaari plan and without any conditioning whatsoever," Sejdiu said.

Yesterday I suspected the Albanians were living in the past but now I am certain of it. Someone needs to tell them the world has moved on and the Ahtisaari plan is long buried.

Firstly, there is absolutely no chance whatsoever that the Albanians will ever rule over the Serbians. This is delusional par excellence and the only possible solution is administrative division - Albanians administer their own while Serbia administers all others.

They are only delaying the inevitable and I believe even the EU has finally come to this realisation.
