The Serbian Orthodox Church last night confirmed rumors that His Holiness Patriarch Pavle has requested to withdraw from active service.

Whoever is selected, I doubt they will be able to come close to the level of dignity held by Pavle, and the love shared between him and the Serbian people. Within the larger Orthodox Ecumene, he's one of the most respected bishops.
