These people were arrested with the help of citizens eh? You are telling me this society has evolved? That the the tattle tales are not going to be targeted for reprisal? Seems to me we have a set up. I wonder what the history of the shooter is. Maybe this is the manner in wich he, by doing this act, has discharged himself from previous obligations that he could not repay.
So big deal, a show piece arrest for the consumption of western press does not change the fact that Serbs cannot tend their fields, need an armed escort to travel, live behind barbed wire, and cannot drive cars that are not plated with"kosova" type designation without threat.

By the way, I know there have been a couple of mostly unsuccessful Albanian attacks on Serbs over the last year, and a couple of Serb attacks on Albanians, but has anyone (except the Ukrainian guy) actually been killed (except in normal criminal cases) in the Republic of Kosova in the year since independence?
(DimTuc, 23 October 2008 17:55)

Instead of asking this question why don't you ask your people another one. Why are Serbs still needing armed escorts in order to go about their daily life?

Do the Albanians need armed escorts?
If Albanians are so peaceful and want a multi ethnic country why do they target Serbian civilians and why is barbed wire necessary to separate the Serbs?

When you can look at yourself in the mirror and answer these questions then and only then you have any right to ask anything from the Serbs.

I keep reading about how you constantly go on about Serbia wanting the land but not the Albanians. Albanians like these nobody wants. They belong in jail.

Probably not. But is it any wonder? There are hardly any serbs left to kill. For example out of Pristina's 40,000 Serb population, only 400 are left. Besides if it was not fot NATO even the remaining serbs would have been killed. It's a shame that churches and monasteries are surrounded by barbed wire and NATO soilders. How can anyone ask the serbs to agree to a life under constant threats?

Great work KPS, keep it up. True that it hasn't always been this good, but so let's congratulate them now, instead of the usual whining as if the only people that have been oppressed or terrorised in the last 15 years in the Balkans were Serbs and the only culprits Albanians (or of course other non-Serbs).

Regarding law and order, when will convicted murderer "the snake" Thaci go to jail?!» Well, my friend, they will only arest the little fish and then release them. But as for Thaci, Haradinaj and co. they have good friends such as Holbrook,Albright, Bush... CIA. How do you imagine that they will let them without protection after years of investing in them?As for law and order in Kosovo - good and nice dream! May be it will be peace but only when the albanians will drive out or kill all the serbs from their land. This is the true face not of the albanians but of the hipocrite EU-US.They came to protect the criminals not for serbs, against serbs. What a disgrace and shame.

Despite the presence of UNHCR and 25 policemen to protect serbs visiting a cemetery and the households
they were driven out from they were targetet by extremist on the albanian side. Unfortunately this is not the only incident where serbs have been targeted in this way. I wonder if albanians in Presevo need 25 policemen to accompany them to their homes. Welcome to a free, domocratic and tolerant Kosovo.

> The incident in Dvorane last week took place despite the fact that the Serbs were there escorted by UNHCR officials and 25 policemen.

This happened in the presence of 'internationals' & under the noses of 25 'policemen'. God knows what would've happened if the 'armed escort' hadn't been there.

Ilir:
> Who breaks the law will face justice no matter what nationality he/she is.

Being arrested is one thing. Facing justice is quite another. Seems to me that those responsible are not too worried about the consequences if they would carry out this attack in front of so many 'policemen'.

> This is a good start of Republic of Kosovo.

And if you call this a 'good start', one wonders what a 'bad one' would look like.

At any rate, UNHCR report can be expected to be an appendix for Serbia's presentation to ICJ.

Example of protecting law and order ? This would be shamefull anywhere, bottom line is they needed 'UNHCR officials and 25 policemen' escort for their safety and they got shoot at anyways ? People simply visiting a cemetery ? Shamefull.

The only positive reading i could get out of this was "We confiscated the pistol, two M48 rifles and some ammunition in a police action, with the help of the citizens", and that the crazy one got arrested, of course. But still wonder what would happen if they had no police escort anywhere, why cant they travel without police escort, Albanians don't need protection in Serb areas, how can that be an example of law and order and multi ethnic state ?

Shamefull.

The only reason anything is being done here is because the UNHCR and all that police were there. They couldn't very well turn a blind eye to that one.

Now if there were no UNHCR present or the police I wonder if this would be investigated at all, so before you proclaim how just Kosovo Albanians are, start asking why no other Serbian murders were ever investigated or any suspects found.
