“Kosovo in IMF, World Bank by spring”

Lets see Russia veto Kosovo's membership now. Oh wait they can't veto LOL. Unlucky for Serbia, Kosovo will become a member of the World Bank and IMF! Who is going to stop Kosovo from doing so? They can't be stopped as the countries who recognise Kosovo have the majority of the power in these two organisations.

You do realise that October has been the best month in ages for Kosovo in terms of recognition and more is expected in the future. Also time is on Kosovo's side, slowly but surely they are gaining recognition and less and less countries are supporting Serbia. Gutted.

What use is membership of the IMF or World Bank when they won't want to invest in Kosovo. Until the legal situation over Kosovo is settled at the ICJ, Kosovo won't be able to tap it's most valuable resources - Trepca. And if this goes in Serbia's favour then the IMF and World Bank will only invest around the US base, not in Trepca.

I just read a article on ctv.ca where Serbia is loooking for help from the IMF like Somalia, Pakistan, Ukraine and couple more countires. Well, I'm not surprised cuz Jeremic was sleeping in 5 star hotels. So does that mean Kosovo partly will be landing money to Serbia? Things to turn around, don't they?

Hey, I've just taken out a large mortgage so that makes me a member of a bank. I owe heaps but I hold a membership card and that's all that matters. I look good to my neighbours. Does this sound familiar?

Kosovo won't be lending. You will be borrowing from anyone willing to lend to you.

The big difference between my membership and yours is that one day I will own my house, while you will ALWAYS be supervised. That's what you've signed up to.

I guess our Serbian friends had that great achievement before us, since they are members of both IMF and World Bank, both US clubs who make nations dependent on them, according to you. Your membership however came with a bombing campaign against you.

Who has been borrowing from China big time? Countries borrow but countries lend and invest as well.

Kosovo has nothing to lend is my whole point. It's easy to take someone's property,declare it your own and then try to use it to entice others to it.

Kosovo is legally Serbian and the Albanians have nothing to offer except stolen goods. I think people are a bit nervous about accepting stolen goods as collateral so investemnts are going to be non existant while the debt to the bank if approved will be enormeous. Bright future here for you.

Wouldn't be too enthused about World bank & IMF membership. Are 'pro's & 'con's, And latter are of special concern to the third-world.
