I think if Belgrade is willing to allow EULEX then in return the trade agreement should be signed by the EU. As for the phrase fanatics is this a phrase used because they purley refuse to tow the line? For any EU mission to work these so called fanatics need to agree with the EULEX mission.

What is interesting in this it shows how important Serbia is for the successs of Kosovo as EULEX are looking for Belgrades approval. As the French have stated Serbia is the main state in the Balkans.

I do think though Kosovo is part of Serbia and it is a good idea for the UN/EU to be there, but from a point of view of keeping a check on any terroist groups that may arise there,we all know the treat of Islamic extremists to Europe.

If you think that the fanatics are in North Kosovo who is responsible for the destruction of churches and Monasteries throughout Kosovo? Who is responsible for the murders of Serbs there even after the war?

Who is stopping shipments of medicine and tearing down schools which are not Albanian in Kosovo?

Are you saying that it is the moderates because all the fanatics are in the north?
What is making the Serb in the north fanatical? How is this being displayed and is it a worse crime than the ones I mentioned?

Stop insulting the Serbs further. Why are people like this even given a time of day?

I am sure that Eulex will be just fine for Serbia. Do not be mistaken, Kosovo is a part of Serbia according to UN, EU and OSCE. Maybe in the future something will change, but for now it is like that. COUNTRIES inside each organisation has recognized Kosovo as an independent country but the ORGANISATIONS has not. Be clear with that !
When it comes to Eulex in Kosovo, I think it will take some time to get going, but dont forget their main goal; to get law and order to run. I know that both sides (Serbs and Albanians) will be VERY surprised when Eu start arresting high level people in Kosovo. Remember again; its a law-mission, NOT a give-away-things-and-money-mission like UN. Make no mistake about that !

Despite different positions on Kosovo's final status, Serbia and the EU have to move on other fields. Let it be clear EU itself and EU countries in particular are not Serbias enemies. Serbia has choosen to ask ICJ on Kosovo, but she has also stated clearly Serbia is engaged to be a cornerstone of stability. This of course means that there has to be adjustmen with authorities in Kosovo.

I suppose the opposition to EULEX would rapidly fade as soon as Serbia is a part of the EU. That would mean that Belgrade have a credible communication line and some influence over EULEX. So, why not simply do a trade off? EULEX deploys, Serbia enters the EU, and through the EU, Belgrade remain influence over EULEX, perhaps even with a particular string to Northern Kosovo?

On the other hand, all this nonense about rule of law is simply wrong. According to the latest report by Amnesty International, the rule of law, and the integrity of the justive system, is now worse than druing the Milosevic era up to the war. That's quite an achievement in itself!

If Serbia lets EULEX in, can Serbia get EULEX out again?

Is the Serbian government making the same mistake Milosevic made? Milosevic effectively invited NATO to intervene; now NATO are in Kosovo, they ain't leaving in a hurry.

The Serbain government should not allow EULEX in unless it also maintains the power to remove them.
