Djukanistan at it´s best. using covert operations against the own people.

I attended the rally to observe. The crowd was peaceful and more cosmopolitan and with different demographics than rallies from Mandic back in April. The slogans and speeches were less nationalistic than radical Serb rhetoric from before and made an attempt to appeal to a broader spectrum of Montenegrin society. There were many families and women. It was surprising that the riots were triggered when Amfilohija began speaking, and despite his attempts to calm the crowd, the triggers work. It is plausible that agents of those opposing the rally started the initial trigger. I saw one man who was in his forties, well-built, and dressed normally throwing stones and bottles at police and then hiding, operating alone. I found it interesting since the profile is radically different from the violent protester hooligan types (young, dressed conspicuously, operating in a group, and overtly confrontational). Who ever wanted to break up the rally succeeded, and succeeded to the point that the next planned event has been cancelled. There was tear gas involved, even hitting a camera crew of two.

I wrote that too, in my comment, but the B92-censors have extracted it.

these socalled "journalists" would perfectly fit into the "Djukanistan-connection" in regard to their behaviour towards freedom of speech.

Go right on believing that the majority of 'montenegrin's support 'pseudo-state'. Will not change the reality which is the exact opposite. And a crowd of 10,000 out of a population of just over 600,000 organised on short notice is indeed significant.

And it is just the start.

Pay attention Mr Djukanovic, your political career, if not your freedom may depend on it.

Sirius Black:
'Rallys & demonstrations followed by violence & unrest' are not the sole province of serbs. Perhaps you are also equally appalled by other incidents of this nature. The demonstrations against Bush's war, against World Trade Agreements, or even those in Kosovo back in the 80's by the K-albanians.

The only thing appalling I find here is your attitude to the suppression of the will of the majority in Montenegro.

Dane:
So referendums are ok as long as you agree with the questions being asked? Oh, & while we're talking about referendums, might point out to you that a referendum is usually put to ALL of the eligible voters in a country, not just a province such as Kosovo.

And will see who the 'violators of international justice' really are when the ICJ brings down it's ruling.

Did somebody mentioned referendum?! How double standards?! Referendum is being asked for an issue which is not crusial for a country and people who would eventualy vote in that referendum, and same country and people for the years are ignoring results of referendum of Kosovars for independence!!!
Serbia for the years have violated international justice and only now is asking mercy from international justice for the actions made against this violation and genocid!!!
Every country is the best one till they regognize Kosovo and the day they do recognize Kosovo independence they are worst countries!!!
Serbs are the most happy people with hardship and desolates of the others and when it happens in their home the others are guilty!!!

It is time to stop to deal with the others and start to deal with your own businesses...

Good luck Kosovo on your own way, good luck to a region in EU integration processes...

It's interesting how the Serbs can not accept that Montenegro is just another country, an independent country.

I am appalled with some comments from people that actually support this kind of thing. After all, these scenes are so reminiscent of Serbia's resent past, i.e. rallies and demonstration followed by violence and unrest, which led Serbia into several wars with most of its neighbours.

When will it stop I wonder.

It is true the decision was taken above the heads of the people. Now if Milo does not allow a referendum on the recognition his government will fall!

Peggy Silent Majority? Is that what is called when montenegrans voted for a free country and to stop living with Serbs under the same roof? I know for a fact and i been to montenegro,, that montenegrons treat Albanians way better then serbs did. Montenegrons are brave people and do regognize the new reality. Uli, don't you know by now that for every person who turns up to protest you should add at least a thousand who stay home and support what they are doing.

Don't look at it as 10,000 only. There will be other protests and more people silently supporting them. Ever heard of silent majority?

Ian (British), mate, you are taking this way too personally for a Brit.
What what I see is going on in Britan (Muslim protests in London) and the threats coming from the Islamic communities I doubt very much that majority of Brits are supporting the Muslims anywhere. Radical Serbs getting violent again. Get over it, Kosovo is independent. Montenegro recognised a reality and this in the long term will keep stability in the Balkans, however getting violent and rioting won't. Thats what thugs do. If you want to demonstrate, do it peacefully. Kosovo is now independent from Serbia just like Montenegro is. There is no more "Greater Serbia", face reality, instead of bee immature and violent. They are pathetic. Well done Montenegro for recognising Kosovo, its was a hard but correct decision, Serbia couldn't bare losing Montenegro, so now Serbia is playing hell over Kosovo. I hope the EU conditions Serbia's recognition of Kosovo as a EU accession requirement. The UK is bound to veto Serbia if it won't recognise Kosovo.
