So, somebody is trying to classify Serbs as 'fascists' and 'anti-fascists'.
The first being, of course, for all that is bad and sinister and the latter, for all that is good and noble.
And- these are the people who pretend to know what the Serbian reality is.

This protest has showed two things.
Firstly it shows the ultra right wingers that they do not have the monopoly on taking to the streets and that there is a critical mass of people who are willing to oppose them, whether they hide under the mask of 'Kosovo', 'Radovan Karadzic' or 'Adolf Hitler'. (That is not to say that the great majority of those on the Kosovo march took part in the violence, I was there, they did not).

Secondly this march shows that Belgrade gets smashed up, not because of the police or state policy, but because right wing thugs and hooligans enjoy violence and think they can get away with it.

This march shows that it is possible to march without recourse to violence and it is possible to protest and behave normally.

Well done to the clero-fascists for bringing the anti fascists out on to the streets. Lets hope this becomes more common.

Like in Budapest, there are some unholy ghosts in Belgrade, too.
Thankfully, they had little effect today, but still some way to go:

"President of the Union of Jewish Municipalities Aleksandar Nećak said that Serbia had never been nor ever would be fascist."

Saying "never been fascist" in respect of Dear Leader Duce Milosevic, who was a protector and defender of minorities in Jugoslavija is a bit of overstatement.

But what is true (thankfully!): rampant and violent anti-semitism is not typical for YU lately. Except our Führer Franjo, who said "luckily my wife is neither Serb nor Jew". Poor Tudjman. He deserved his fate: he died not knowing, what is good in the life.
