Enjoy it for now but remember the wheel is always turning. The next power in the Balkans just might be on a different side. The people you step on, on your way up are the ones you will encounter on your way down.

I couldn´t have said it better. once again, I must agree with Peggy.

and what is best: these demographic changes they are dreaming of, are quite questionable, for several reasons, but that is not the topic here.

they will see how the wheel is turning, I am convinced it will happen in our lifetime...

Ataman,

I respect your comments, they are very correct apart from 'a', where you say there has to be mutual treatment between war criminals. Every Kosovar who has been called to stand trial has done so. Ramush Haradinaj left his Prime Ministerial post just to be punctual and transparent with the Hague. He was found unguilty, despite serbian politicians claiming this to be a biased decision with the 'world against Serbia' notion that exists in your countries current political scene. I wish I could say the same transparency exists with Mladic, he knows of his chances in trial due to blatant war crimes, and opts not to attend the Hague trial which is vital in preserving 'international law'

When you talk about President Bush, I can't agree with you more. However, this is only a traditional domino game between the two super powers, and the difference now is that no one is on Russia's side, their very neighbours (use Montenegro and Macedonia as an analogy if you please) are against them and want a 'western' free market globalisation. Russia is stubborn and is an unstable super power which has the same foreign policy attitude as the last cold war. They threaten weaker nations and cut off energy supplies when something displeases them, so I would much rather be allies with Bush than someone like Putin or Medvedev.

my comment is actually quite generalised to the Serbian government, present and past.
(Mirsad UK, 10 October 2008 02:16)

Mirsad,

1) it looks like your low-rank enemies are in deep doo-doo right now. I would not change my place with them. The present Serbian government you offend did play a major role in that process. Please find a single sympatising comment about these guys from Serbian "gang".

2) it looks like your high-rank enemies from past Serbian governments who did more, than just talk - are in similar deep doo-doo in Hague right now, except two. Except Sheshelj, whose only evidence on hand, he did "talk". But since that talk was bad enough, he got where he is.

What else you wish?

Most Serbs with whom I spoke wish following:

a) Warlords in Pristina would get same treatment. I absolutely support the idea, all who live in Serbia and have even a single drop of Albanian blood on their hand would be sent to Pristina. Give them 40 years of forced labor, I am happy with that. But Pristina should do the same with their own who has Serbian blood on their hand. Send them to Belgrade or/and Banja Luka.

b) Free and unhindered access to sights which are part of Serb history.

c) Serb minority in Kosovo should have no disadvantage compared with Albanian majority

d) Law and order all over Kosovo, including DISARMING OF ALL, regardless, Serbs of Albanians. No private guns.

e) No "borderposts", "customs", etc. between Kosovo and Serbia proper.

f) Professional, regular Kosovo forces representing all Kosovars.

In my opinion who does not agree to a)-f) is a hypocrite. If you look in detail, you see it is more beneficial, than what Kosovars have today.

A very bad path was chosen under influence of some evil people, who are not even Albanians. I assume, most Kosovo-Albanians who support do it because of lack of information and communication.

Their "master" is now morally and financially bankrupt and has few more months in the office. I apologize for this evil man, he did even more harm at home and the jobs of many people I know in Silicon Valley are destroyed or in limbo. And not just jobs - but I do not want to talk about "conspiracy theories" here, even if they make sense scientifically. Not for no reason did we chose precisely this time to re-settle in Central Europe. I am glad, I can keep ourself (barely) over the water. Not every of my former colleagues has the chances I have.

Zoran, are you suggesting that serbia will do a better job feeding albainians in Kosovo. they havent managed to do it for 100 years so what makes you think life for Albanians within Kosovo would be better under serbia than as Kosovo or so called Greater Albania that serbs keep dreaming up?

Greater Anything only comes from a serb plan for Greater Serbia and have merely projected their own plans and tried to twist it as though its also someone elses plan. noone is listening to serbia because nations have learnt over years that alot of what they say is merely lip service.

betabe

Well Zoran to make it easier for you, not Albanian nation but Albanian speaking people. For your information, from Pristina to Albania I go usually through Macedonia so guess what: I do not have to speak either Macedonian or Serbian or any other language. KPS border policeman speaks Albanian, Macedonian border policeman speaks Albanian, traffic police from Skopje to Struga speak Albanian, Macedonian border policeman again speaks Albanian, and also Albania Border policeman speaks Albanian. That is because Albanian people live in these areas.
If the plans of your Academy of Science, and if the execution of those plans by ..., Rankovic, Milosevic, etc. have failed, you must accept that and move forward. New roads are constructed, so it will be easier for us to have access to EU, but from now and on not through Serbia and never again in next 50 years, neither people or goods.

“Russia will continue to stand with Serbia in her efforts to preserve Kosovo, Konuzin said.”

The funny thing is that Russia can talk and talk, but in the end it can’t do anything about Kosovo, since there is no Russian troops in Kosovo.

In fact, nowadays the defence of the “Kosovo is Serbia” stand is tougher in Bosnia’s Republika Srpska and in Russia than in Serbia itself!

I do not deliberately mean to give you grammar lessons, but if you re-read my comment I did not specify Tadic as the architect of those crimes in the nineties, I quote myself as saying "they" and not 'Him', so my comment is actually quite generalised to the Serbian government, present and past.

I do however respect that you do not deny these widespread crimes like many of the posters on this forum.

How are you going to feed all these people and what jobs are they going to do? I am sure that the common people in countries in western Europe are not waiting for you people to flood their countries (especially now that a world-wide recession is around the corner that will hurt your US and EU masters to the core).

'YOUR land' and 'give it away' are misleading. Serbs aren't giving anything away, Albanians took their land back and frankly Serbs aren't losing anything because Albanian are 2 million strong there and make 92% of the population.

This is not about tearing Serbia apart, it's about the Albanians who have certain rights under international law, and those rights have been denied over and over again by Serbia.

Who is Tadic and Co to teach about morals and international law when they broke and deprived kosovars of the most basic human rights
(Mirsad UK, 9 October 2008 23:29)

Not sure, Tadic did ever brake and deprived Kosovars of the most basic human rights, but I would question the quality of that pot. Proof:

"Tadić's party, a member of the Democratic Opposition of Serbia, played a key role in the Bulldozer Revolution that toppled Slobodan Milošević in 2000"

Wise and true words from the Russian ambassador and we appreciate the Russian support that is not just moral. Serbia is the last country standing in the Balkans who have not sold itself (yet?) to the EU, the US, NATO and their 21st century colonialism that is meant to abuse our lands and enslave our people (in a modern way so we will become people without a land who will move to western Europe to perform cheap labor).

Has this vladimir guy read the news yet? Is he delusional or what?

Serbia's closest allies, in fact of the same ethnicity, have just recognised Kosova despite UN opinion on independence.

Do you really believe that great statesmen who have recognised kosovo are that vulnerable into thinking that Serbia has the right to dictate, in fact, ANYTHING, since the horrors of the nineties orchestrated by the Serbs...

Who is Tadic and Co to teach about morals and international law when they broke and deprived kosovars of the most basic human rights, and then brand Kosovo as Serbian land?

"You are only making fools of yourselves if you take credit for someone else's might and achievement.
