This shows that Montenegro has grown up and can make decisions without direction from Belgrade. From 1990 till its independence, only thing serbia has done is drag it down and bully it but now it has officially moved on.

nteresting serb posters here talk about American bullying whilst the truth is that its serb bullying its neighbours which has lead to this.

serbs can look externally for excuses of its predicament but root of the problem is at home and lack of realisation of this.

Interessting to note that some posters here have suggested that russia will punish montenegro as it is its no.1 investor? isnt THIS bullying that you accuse americans of. a one-eyed point of view is an amazing thing.

"Russia almost owns Monte Negro all ready. Serbia just need to wait a little bit, time is beginning to work for her..."

You know that Russia supported MN independence over Serbia's objections right? The West actually didn't want them to declare independence.

Look at the map and see where Russian ships have to pass by: By Turkish controlled territory. Turks have a larger and more modern fleet that the Russians and USA has a base there too. Then, they would have to pass between Albania and Italy in the Adriatic.

SHOCK, ABSOLUTE SHOCK, THAT MONTENEGRO HAS RECOGNIZED INDEPENDENCE OF AN ILLEGAL STATE. This is the Blackest Day in the Diaspora.

Obviously, American pushed their puppets real hard. They are in the hurry now to push while they still can.

But it will not last, it is swan’s song. Many Montenegrins won’t be amused with their Government decision. Dukanovic & Co. should brace themselves well, troubles are on the horizon.

Tide is changing. West is losing its power very fast. Global balance of power will be very different pretty soon. Russia almost owns Monte Negro all ready. Serbia just need to wait a little bit, time is beginning to work for her...

This is a really, really bad approach by Serbia IF they want to join EU. You need to get along with them, not act as if it's still the 12th century. Serbia should give up EU dreams if they want to act this way. Very childish

I don’t agree with some guys here who express concern over Montenegrin Ambassador’s “fate” in Belgrade. I think that condolences are to be addressed to Belgrade or its politics which is based on hatred and revenge towards anything that don’t match with its appetites. It is unfair to ask neighbors around to join its suicide endeavor that lasts more than 20 years now. Serbia should admit once for ever that its hegemonic passion has come to an end long ago with the Berlin’s wall crash down, or communism downfall.
Isn’t a weird situation when a state that has requested advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) about the legality of the unilaterally declared independence of Kosovo, to act so nervously and in such incomprehensible manner. Isn’t that a prove that its justice positioning towards international justice is only a show

Laki Bani,

djukanovic, etc etc etc have nothing to do with Berlin Wall. If you look at their bio, they (including thaci) are the warlords and communists.

The current politicians in Belgrade are a rare find in Central/East Europe who are not connected to the dirt of the past. Just try to find an other place like that - not easy. Here is the list:

Montenegro = djukanovic, aka milosevic puppet, read his bio.
Albania = sali berisha, lapdog of enver hoxha, than bonzi-master, than mini-dictator.
Hungary = Ferenc Gyurcsány (more-less OK), but the main power is the opposition, viktor orbán, the turncoat, ex-KISZ-man, than ex-liberal, than ex-christianconservative, than populist (now). He is the worst problem of all, not for nothing is he called "mini-duce"
Slovakia = fico, no comment
Russia = putin, no comment
Croatia = mesic, no comment

Everyone is free to add to that glorious list of turncoats, "biznismen" and so on.

Montenegro, Belgrade is to far, you can assign that Ambassador to Prishtina, because in near future will become a regional center considering how things are going. Let Serbia fight for its principles that is to try expel 1 million of its claimed people and then try to keep them within your country. Who needs such middle age principles after all. Serbia is still not ready to become a modern state, it will take time, and that time will come when after all other done, they apologize for the wrongdoings of their leader which initially was supported by its people but became dictator when couldn't achieve what they wanted.

Yes, it's actually seven, with Liberia. Now let's list out these nations.

a) USA. The most important nation to keep the contact with, probably. But watch out for them! I mean, us, sorry. And make sure, you have your best people in Belgrade to hire the best PR agencies. It will be a very serious work.

That means: no way, normalized trade and diplomatic relations are a must.

b) Albania. One of the most important NEIGHBORS. The current relations - despite what people would think are not that bad. So it's not good to make trouble.

c) four (ex)American overseas territories. See either a) or they have not even a representative office. You can't kick out the ambassador of Marshall Islands.

d) Liberia - this is a territory populated by descendants of American ex-slaves. The biggest income of the country is from registration of cargo ships. Otherwise no trade or consular relationship with any Central European country as I know.

"Serbian I speak and write,

a quote from Petar Petrovic Njegos II, Serbian Prince Bishop Warrior

The position that the Montenegrin Government has taken on Kosovo and the position that the Serbian Government has taken towards Montenegro leave me near tears.

I am glad that the Serbian government has finally shown a decisive reaction to an individual challenge to Serbian authority, but I find it highly regrettable that the Montenegrin ambassador is non grata in Serbia while the ambassadors of the six nations that voted against Serbia (as well as former Yugoslav republics that have already recognized Kosovo) STILL HAVE NORMALIZED TRADE WITH, AND DIPLOMATIC REPRESENTATION IN, Belgrade.

I realize that Serbia should expect more from Montenegro, but it is not fair to punish them while Tadic accepts employee of the month awards in Germany. Montenegro finds itself on the wrong side of history because of its leadership; if we continue to support western bought politicians we will also find ourselves on the wrong side of history.

This is a harbinger of a possible end to Serbian and Montenegrin independence.

@9Maks, Do you really think that anyone cares whether Albanians forgive them or not?
It's not about you and never was. It's all about pleasing America.

I always said that Montenegro will recognize Kosovo and this should not have come as a surprise.
I wonder if the Montenegrians now think that it was worth separating from Serbia. They are too small to resist anything. Their pride and their souls have been taken away by the cowboy.

The other countries recognizing Kosovo is not as much of a betrayal as you.
Shame, shame, shame.

Maybe this government won't last a sole year after all.

Montenegro has a beautiful coastline on the Adriatic sea. It thus has easy access to Western Europe. It is also part of a regional agreement between itself, Albania, and Croatia to build interstate infrastructure to facilitate the movement of goods. And Montenegro's european perspective is on a solid path. Montenegro loses nothing from this. Serbia loses its sole access point to the sea, and is left even more isolated in the region. The only country in the region that still kind of supports Serbia is Romania, but they too will turn their back on Serbia in the near future. It looks like despite any smokescreen measure Serbia attempts to undertake in order to appease its public, in reality it can do little to influence event in Kosovo. I submit that the prospect of three recognitions just as the resolution was being voted, is a defeat for Serbia.

This will not be worth it for Montenegro. Over 25% of their population about 300,000 are Serbian, they will not sit IDLE over this decision.

Over 25% of Montenegro's GDP results in Trade with Serbia. Over 40% of Montenegros tourism is the result of Serbian visitors.

Montnegro now loses face, and digitity, living without diginity usualy turns out to be much worse then one imamgines.

There are over 200,000 Montenegrians in Serbia that were hoping for duel citzenship, that won't happen, now.

The number one investor in Montenegro is Russia, we'll see how that goes in the months to come.

Montenegro relies on Serbian energy, wonder how many times this winter the power going into Montenegro will be faulty.

Montnero has acived becomeing yet another lap dog to the USA, but one must wonder to what benfit, since the USA is all but Bankrupt and will be in bad shape for years to come even longer if McCain wins.

Macedonia held on to her dignity, at least for tonight, but Montenegro could not, how much worse does this make Montenegro look tonight?

You have to know that Serbias reaction will be sever to Montenegro, not like with Slovenia and Croatia.

There will be regrets over this decsion possibley even the collpase of the Montenegrian Goverment.

This reminds me of the Germans deciding to invade Russia during the Winter in World War 2, a decision that eventually destroyed them, and turned the wave of the war against Germany.

Ambassador Anka Vojvodic,
Don't worry about the current Serbian stance as soon it will change for better and you will be invited back. It is just a common Serbian policy. You know what happened to the other EU ambassadors whom recognised Kosova independence. Montenegro is a lovely country and has good lovely coast like Albania. Serbs will love again to have access to the sea....and invite you back to Belgrade))
Vuk Jeremic was blaming you for "threating" Serbian territorial integrirty. That is really unfair. Serbian panel here give us one example of Serbia having any signs of sovereignity over
Kosova. Please do not blame the others for your wrongdoing policies in the former Yugoslavia and the region.

Don't worry Montenegro!

Your ambassador will be back in Belgrade within 6 months, just like the ambassadors of all the other countries who have recognized Kosovo already! LOL.

So, Jeremic, how does it feel to be "stabbed in the back" by Montenegro like you said a few days ago?

Especially coming one day after that weak PR move at the UN yesterday which was designed to stop any more recognitions.

Thank you Montenegro!
Thank you Macedonia! (within a few hrs)

The same day they decided to send back the other ambassadors? Where is the logic here? Do they expect Djukanovic to tremble? Are Serb leaders in such a panic that they keep making one wrong move after another?

Maybe this government won't last a sole year after all.

Although slowly but surely my prediction came true. I predicted that Montenegro and Macedonia will recognize Kosovo in the same time before Greece. Now Greece’s time to do so and then it is Rumania time and most likely the last to recognize Kosovo from Europe (not including Russia, Belarus and some other Russian related) would be Cyprus and Bosnia and we understand and we forgive them.
Why Serbia doesn't do history and recognize Kosovo before it is late for EU integration?

Mr. Jeremic is yelling!

It is given that anyone that spends some time with Kosova's independence issue will loose the temper, (just like all of us here) but it's not allowed for a FM.

What is expelling the ambassador will do? Isn't it embarrassing that in few weeks the ambassador will be back?

Is Albanian's ambassador still in Belgrade by the way?

A great decision. Serbia should be proud that in the face of the greed of the surrounding nations it is fighting for the principals.

Crna Gora should be ashamed of itself. Serbia should work hard at making Crna gora suffer. They are a disgrace to their Serbian brothers and sisters....all becasue of the yankee dollar!!

Nice move Vuk, and it's about time. Now please expel the US, UK, and German ambassadors, who are the ones who have been threatening and bribing these minions into recognizing in the first place. There is zero reason that the US ambassador should still be enjoying himself in Belgrade. None at all. Let Milo join albania and change his religion to islam.
Serbia is the only nation in the region with any dignity and pride it seems.
The few, the proud, the Serbs!!!

Florin

My name is Faithful,
My surname Patriot.
Montenegro my motherland,
Rocks cover all over.
"Serbian I speak and write,
To all say loud and clear:
Of Serb ethnicity
Of Slavic mind and soul."
a quote from Petar Petrovic Njegos II, Serbian Prince Bishop Warrior

Sorry, who curses Montenegro: that's the deal involving milosevic-ex-right-hand-turned-smuggler gang. Do not curse Montenegrins. That criminal secured the area for himself with blessing of milosevic and commies.

Who is joyful: now you do celebrate milosevic, don't you?

Look at his bio and think twice, whom to curse and whom to celebrate and how many times he sold his allies and turned sites:

Like once said about nixon: do not elect people from whom you would not buy a used car.

(Marko, 9 October 2008 22:58)

Wave your EU flags Tadic, this is what they have brought us.
