Is actually a case of the 'not in my back yard' syndrome.

Happens everywhere. Was a recent case in Australia where developement applications for a muslim school were knocked back here in western Sydney due to 'popular demand' from local aussies.

Its easy to berate the people of Ovca when we forget that an city of 2000 is being forced to accept 1000 economic refuges from a callous DS led City Government that has done nothing to ease the suffering of the Roma of 'Karton Siti' for years.

It leads me to ask
1. what training or job opportunities will Belgrade authorities offer the Roma as they make their transition to a new home.

2. will any of the millions of Euros that will be made in developing the gazela area benefit the Roma who are being forced from one ghetto to another?

3. Is there any plan for a city program of employing roma labour, at market rates, in any construction projects that will take place in this area.

3, will the people of Ovca see the construction of additional school buildings, or is it assumed that the Roma kids don't need an education?

4, Is anyone suprised that Dedinje is not the designated relocation point?
