As others above have already pointed out, it is the french gov't along with it's buddies in the EU who are actually tying themselves into gordian knots in an effort to rationise their 'positions', & not the serbs.

Dashnori i Ceces:
> These 'politicians' speak for 25 out of 27 EU members

No. In actual fact, they speak for very few. The majority of the rest have all been pressured into it - Portugal is the most recent case in point.

As for Slovakia, Romania & Greece, accepting passports is one thing. Recognition is entirely another.

> What do you think will happen?

I think that eventually, Serbia will probably get into the EU with it's position on Kosovo intact - even though personally I feel that Serbia would be better off in the long run outside of the EU.

Bottom line is that Serbia is more important to the EU that the issue of Kosovo is.

> Serbia just showed EU that they have no changed, they are trying to scam EU.

Will see in the following years just how successful Serbia's 'scam' is, & just how unsuccessful the K-albanian scam is. The GA's decision to pass on Serbia's initiative intact to the ICJ is a good start.

Overall, a good day for Serbia.

Accepting an entity's passport is not the same as recongizing it as a country. Taiwan's passports are accepted almost worldwide but only a handful of countries recognize it as a country.

"The move of Serbia towards the EU is stronger than these negatively motivated politicians. They won't be able to stop it."

These 'politicians' speak for 25 out of 27 EU members (only Spain and Cyprus have not recognized independence or passports). Time will tell. Serbia needs to "control it's entire territory" and have "good relations with its neighbors" before getting in EU. What do you think will happen? Serbia just showed EU that they have no changed, they are trying to scam EU.

Democratic Serbia gains more respect by maintaining its strong position on Kosovo. The move of Serbia towards the EU is stronger than these negatively motivated politicians. They won't be able to stop it.

Dear Ambasador,

All Serbian history is contradictory. They break EVERY international law, then, they seek an 'advice' from the same organ who supposed to condemn them unreservely.

As far as I'm aware, this sell-out government is not against the EU mission at all. It only has conditions on its deployment, such as it being status neutral, receives UNSC approval and does not implement the rejected Ahtisaari plan so I don't really see anything contradictory about it.

But I have a question for the this Frenchman. Does he not find himself in a contradictory position by ignoring international law on Serbia's sovereignty but then refers to it when Georgia's sovereignty is concerned? Now that contradiction is as clear as they get.

It has been given 3 months lately to Serbia...then Eulex will be deploied and ..Boris and Vuk must give a yes or a no...obviously if the answer will be the second one Serbia and Eu will take two different roads..

Serbia's eulex position is not contradictory at all: it has always been clear that eulex has no legal foundation and that it tries to implement the rejected Ahtisaari plan covertly. This is not only the view in Serbia, it is clear for all.

When you say: 'EULEX mission did not pre-judge the province’s status, adding that the mission’s objective was to guarantee the rule of law and to protect ethnic minorities, especially the Serbs' you actually imply changes to the province's status, since Serbs in Serbia are a majority whereas you mention them as minority. This exposes in words the hidden purpose of your 'innocent' plan to implement this so-called eulex.

On the other hand, it is now obvious that the EU wants Serbia more than Serbia needs the EU.

"Do you really think that you can be pro-Serbia..."

Bad analogy. EU is not "pro-Serbia" not is it suppose to be. EU is pro-EU and Serbia want to join them. if Serbia supports EU it must support EU(LEX)

I guess that is a question that Tadic must answer;

"Do you really think that you can be pro- European Union, while at the same time you refuse to accept the mission of that same Union in Kosovo? That’s a contradictory position,” Terral told the daily. "

But Tadic could just as equally ask;
Do you really think that you can be pro-Serbia in the European Union, while at the same time you refuse to accept the Soverignity of the country that you wish to be an equal partner and have Union Whith?

- Surely for Terral that’s a contradictory position too ???

Marko

There you have it straight from the official representatives of the EU powers; if Serbia does not implement the Ahtisaari plan, Serbia will not join the EU regardless of what Tadic and his employer Solana have told wilfully blind DS supporters.

As these words were spoken on Serbian soil, Tadic was in France receiving further and better instructions. He has promised that "Serbia wanted to cooperate with its neighbours in the region".

Meanwhile the "For a EULux Serbia Parliamentary coalition is promising to continue working on Schengen today because, according to our Presidency and Government, the thing that Serbs need more than anything else in the world are visa free European vacations for the wealthy. It is more important for Serbs to see Notre-Dame than to be permitted to travel to Visoki Decani. It is more important that are young people are educated in Heidelberg and live in Germany than it is for them to be receive an Education in Novi Sad and continue to live and prosper in Serbia.

While the great western puppet Boris Yeltsin put Russia in chains, he was drunk half of the time, and probably had no idea what was happening. What is Tadic’s excuse?
