and at least Serbia will be the first among all others to actively expunge its authoritative past for the sake of true democratic consolidation

Mike,

let me doubt it. Until Serbia remains bound in Kosovo they cannot expunge or consolidate anything, quite the contrary. Should we turn to the German experience, it wasn't certainly talking about Schlesien or Sudeten that Germany managed to improve its image especially after the '90s. I understand your desiderata, but I see that Serbia is heading another way

Germany is really a good example but for other reason. We can look, was it really useful to apply the principe of "collective guilt" as it was done in American sector or maybe not.

since the USofA needed a Proxy after WW II, it was clear that only Germany could fill this gap...

that´s why.

further questions?

but, to be honest, it looks like, with asking such a question, you clearly show that you did not even understand what was meant by the comment you were answering.

genc, that´s frightening, though.

It's a shame that Serbia of all ex-YU members has to be the one to actively engage in an "image makeover" when most other ex-YU nations have been just as guilty in ethnic conflict, expulsion of minorities, political corruption, exclusionary nationalism, historical revisionism, and authoritative democracy. But then again, all these other groups did it within the umbrella of "pro-Europe" at the get-go, so they got a free pass. Well, this is the way the wind blows, and at least Serbia will be the first among all others to actively expunge its authoritative past for the sake of true democratic consolidation.

And yes, I do agree with genc. Germany has every right to evaluate an image change since they are one of the few states that have successfully done such a thing and have actively expunged large parts of its authoritarian historical narratives.

Don't mix emotions with logic sir. Germany is the first country to lecture on image. Just remember Germany's image 60 years ago and Germany's actual image. How come?
