I think the guys doing the report that the article talks about should do this in a comparative perspective. If done in such a way it would be obvious that minorities in vojvodina have far more rights than in neighboring countries. Vojvodina has six official languages and has much peace and harmony. The minorities there actually support the democratic process, unlike our ungrateful albanians in the south who wanted milosevic to remain in power by boycotting the democratic process. I mean, when we notice how little rights the hungarians have in slovakia and romania, and then compare that their language is actually official in vojvodina... it's clear that the people who criticize vojvodina are absolute hypocrites.

It looks for me that the main issue here are the "great" organization skills of Serbs, perhaps "surpassed" only by Hungarian, Romanian, Russian, Albanian etc. organization skills. Or maybe the other way. After living in Germany and the States well over two decades I sometimes pull out my hair experiencing these "skills" first-hand in Central/East/South Europe.

The Serbian-Orthodox versus Romanian-Orthodox church issue is probably one of such things, most likely, this is an issue of mosquito-size elevated to become an elephant.

On the side-note: try to repair an HP 30" monitor under warranty in Hungary. Yes, they will do it, but you will grow grey hair within few days and will think all bad things about the country. However, nothing is bad - just the organization and business skills are few hundred years behind of expectation.

On the other hand, try to buy/build a decent house in USA. Amricans are living in some horrible cardboard-like buildings. With little exaggeration: none will get a building permit even in Shuto Orizari, Skopje. We were scared to buy a home in the States (wrong decision for our budget!).

There you go, another hit on Serbia's treatment of minorities and religous intolerance and now stated by the Council of Europe!

This report is only documenting on the Romanians being unhappy about their treatment in Vojvodina, but wait till we get more reports when others will complain as well like the Slovaks, Croats, Montenegrins and Macedonians --- does anybody see the case for Vojvodina's Independence building even stronger ???

What right does the Serbian Orthodox Church have in having so much say in other people's religious affairs???
