Belgrade to probe WW2 Hungarian war criminal

The War Crimes Prosecution has filed a motion to launch an investigation into the actions of Hungarian national Sandor Kepiro, 94.

At 94, the inheritance does matter a lot. And Din/Ft can HURT a lot if you know, your assets will be used to pay the compensation for victims. What jail term can we talk about? 1-5 years maybe? That is nothing. The "rope" is not being used in Hungary (thank god!), so what remains is economic punishment and that can be applied with maximal force.

Regretfully or not, but like Serbia, Hungary does not extradict the citizens and they cannot lose unwillingly the citizenship. Hungarian prisons are not any better than Serbian ones, here I see a good chance.

But I wonder, for how long and how successfully this criminal did hide in Hungary - or was he a returnee? Because in János Kádár times all he would get is a mere 3 meters of rope, not a prison term.

While there is very little that can be done to punish a man of 94, hopefully any trial can be completed prior to his death so that he goes to his grave knowing he is a convicted murderer.
