Who says the military and police haven't been reformed? Both on under civil control, both give minorities the right to work in them both. That's just a lame excuse Albanians (of all people) have to use against Serbia because in reality its not that they are oppressed as they claim its just that the hate Serbs all together... and we are the nationalists...right.

Milosevic milosevic..give it a rest already. I have a feeling Albanians actually miss the guy.

Free elections? Haha I think we have too many of those frankly. Take a look back how many excruciating elections we had to go through. Its a roller coaster that never lets you off.

I am not comfortable with Serbia being likened to an ugly boy. Serbia is more like the poor student who is trying to fit in with the wealthy crowd but since he is not prepared to degrade himself for them they will never accept him.

They keep telling him to do this or that for their enternatinment and power over him but he only goes so far, so they start to threaten him by saying they will spread rumours about him.

In this sort of film, the poor boy always wins in the end. Everyone wants justice so the bad guys get theirs in the end.

Is it too much for EU to ask Serbia to reform its' police, military, and rule of law such as free elections? These are all marks that help the average ethnic Serb.

"The awkward boy has to have something worthwhile for the girl to want."

No so. The girl could enjoy just abusing and dumping him - playing on his being smitten with her. Many people get off abusing other and making them run through loops.

The EU does enjoy dictating conditions to Serbia all the time and Serbia has implemented many of these, to the detriment of itself.

If the EU was disinterested in Serbia it would ignore Serbia, but instead they are talking about it and meddling in Serbian affairs all the time.

There are a couple things wrong with your analogy, Michael Thomas.
1. The awkward boy has to have something worthwhile for the girl to want.
2. Never seen a movie where this type of girl went through the motions to bring peace and stability to the neighborhood.

I have seen this sort of thing on TV.

An ugly, awkward teenager is besotted with the prettiest girl in school. She sees him for what he is and has no intention of accepting him as a friend, let alone having a relationship with him. Her boyfriend is a handsome hunk, the captain of the school football team, with rich parents and his own car. Being a cruel and manipulative type, the girl leads the poor lad along and keeps asking him for favours. “I am under great pressure” she tells him, “could you please help me with my homework?” “Could you please lend me some money?” Whatever she asks the poor sap delivers.

This type of film always ends the same way. The lad finally realises that he has no chance of sleeping with the girl and that she is taking him for a ride. He finds himself a less attractive girlfriend and some true friends, usually people as ugly and awkward as himself.

Serbian politicians could learn a lot from these films.

What kind or progress can there be with Milosevic in your head. This nation is not ready to reform something or have a critical view on the past.
Do Serbs believe they droped Milosevic and its regime?
-Then why are they not able/willing to reform military and police service?
Serbs startet going on the street when the individe Milosevic was done.
Serbs didn't show courage to ask what's beeing done in Bosnia and Kosovo, they had no courage to raise their voice while Milosevic was powerfull and they are not showing any courage to look the truth in they eye and break with the past.
