Hello Michael Thomas,

A couple of points to consider Michael.

First, Serbs will tend to read the Serbian version of B92 not the English version (unless they want to argue with Albanians or the outside world). Second, the individual who wrote/translated the piece probably learned 'rap sheet' from the same place as you and has no idea that it is not good English!

Remember, English is not their first languange and they have no idea what is good and bad whilst watching trashy TV programmes...

“All the suspects have police rap sheets”

Who wrote this story, a Press Office from the American embassy?

After a childhood watching American TV shows like Kojak, Starsky & Hutch and the Streets of San Francisco I have learnt what a “rap sheet” is. I doubt if many Serbians understand what it is; and I can’t imagine any using such an expression.

Is the English B92 site published in Belgrade or Langley, Virginia?
