"Don't the Albanians realize they are absolutely nothing but a paper cut out being used by the military-industrial complex to meet military, resource and strategic targets. As soon as they get what they need they will forget about you just like they have done in Rwanda."

Each state has its objectives, in 5-10 years Kosova will be in much better shape as a 7-8 million Albanian block market will entice more investors and by then the infrastructure will be ready

Kosova is in Europe, not Africa and it's near Albania and among NATO states so your comparison is invalid. If they dump us, we'll be fine without Serbia's 'protection'

"Tadic definitely has the morale and legal high ground and is doing the honorable thing although I fear it will come on deaf ears.."

Well, yeah, it looks like that but ,as usual, in the present Serbia, there is a- hitch.
This high 'moral ground'and 'honour', as everything else has a price and can be sold to a higher bidder (all Serbian 'high moral grounds' end up eventually in Swiss banks). Don't be surprised when our Government, 'generously' abandons it for the sake of some European solidarity.
As far as 'Kosova' is concerned, this IS the Balkan Rwanda, and to make appeal to the sense of responsability of the indigenous population,is simply wasting one's breath.

Jovan,

Serbia (Tadic & Co,) has said it will never recognize Kosova as an independent country. Then, why oh why go to the ICJ for a ruling???

Should all Serbs that moved to Kosova, after 1999, be allowed to stay? According to your logic, your answer is NO!

Why all the blatant hypocrisy?

dear Kosovo-habitant, if you had a serbian citizenship prior to 1999, we WANT you to stay.

if you are an Albanian who came after 1999 from Albania... you´ll have to leave sooner or later.

the serbian government has secured all data on the population of the southern serbian province, before it left control to the nato-occupiers, so it will be an easy job to verify who is welcome and who is not.

Earlier, Tadić spoke to VOA Serbian service to say that "Belgrade will not show understanding if her neighbors decided to recognize Kosovo's declaration, saying that such moves would destabilize the country."

As we can Serbia is putting a lot of pressure on other independent countries. So it is not about complying with international law as Serbia's claim but about pressure and influence.

Serbia has a right to address the UNGA, but by the same token, the Republic of Kosova also has a right to adrress the same body, and beyond that, they have a right to take serbia to the world court for committing genocide and massive human rights violations.

otherwise, this is just another case of serbia using bullying and coersion, while keeping their victims from having a proper voice.

this is a critical time and we all need to stand up for democracy, human rights and independence. at least those of us who believe in those "platitudes."

thank you.

I wish you would be right... I've been so many times in the US and this since the 80's and always had a good time, whether privately or for business! mp - Speaking for myself, it's not about respect or 'hating Americans'.

It's about what recent administrations have been doing around the world, and the fact that the US is now an unchecked superpower.

International law has basically become a doormat for the US and they just do whatever they want.

Unless France and Germany refuse to keep blindly supporting US foreign policy, and respect for international law is re-established, then I think that the UN will actually be disbanded within a few years.

That affects all of us, so we all have the right to speak out against current international issues, and I'm sorry that you take that personally.

At the moment, we are all dependent upon arms dealers and paid lobbyists deciding who to attack, sanction or side with next. I don't want these people running US foreign policy.

There has to be some sort of international structure which is respected, and that will only happen if America decides to go along with it.

What worries me is I can't see how that would ever happen, unless the new administration takes an entirely different approach.

mp

President Tadic did a good job in front of the UN GA yesterday. He brought some good argumentation and he adopted the right strategy: to put the US in the role of the biggest, which means he has put on them the role of understanding and moderating with everybody, not only some distinct territory. Tadic is right here.. Most of you like to hate the americans very much but you all forget that the US is the country from where you receive the most of financial help, investments in the domain of business.. etc..
