may i remind you that Russian stock got suspended on friday and it hast be working for much of the week fearing most of the companies going bust, on already went as some 30-40 year old billioner bought for cheap, whereas China cant feed its self as the demand in china is huge on almost everything.

what has happened is pure greed from banks which now that greed is biting back, new regulations will come in force i am sure of that to avoid a repeat.

Russia taking over it will like living in a world where mafia controls everything in other words the end of civilisation :(

ZK,

your right its ironic & comical that Sarkozy (feigning ignorance of blame) suggests punishing those responsible while Bush is all for giving them a trillion US dollars (at last count - for all a trillion Dollars is worth nowadays?) for the finacial disaster they have created - guess one need not mention the wanton destruction of international norms and laws put in motion by the US and backed up by some in the EU!!

Oh what a tangled web we weave...

The meltdown of the Western financial system continues. And who is Sarkozy trying to fool? His answer is within the article itself. Here it is:
--
The plan, which has yet to be approved by Congress, has been criticized by some observers, who argue that it is unfair for the bankers who sparked the crisis not to bear the full brunt of its consequences.
--
Yes, the bankers are to blame - those who control the financial system. Well, it looks like Russia and China were waiting for this to occur so now its their time to take over and I for one welcome them!
