Do'nt you all despair. It will be all right. Even in the Hague only Verhagen and Sesjelj still support each other against Serbia's accession to the associationagreements. Ís'nt it crazy? All sensible men know the future in this case.

For Peter:

I don't think Serbia can join the EU in 2014 considering the problems which the EU need to resolve. One of them is the ratification of the Lisbon Treaty. Not even Croatia is assured of EU entry!

How do you know that all the Western Balkan countries will join the EU by 2015?

oh dear this is heartbreaking
bozo djelic exhibiting all symptoms of carrot poisoning
and look at the subtlety of the pressure, like its straight out of palermo back streets, yesterday solana said, ok, we'll talk about this again DURING THE UN GENERAL ASSEMBLY... eh:)
i advise our ruling collusion to get up from their knees chucking up bad carrots, and get to action to quickly come up with solutions.
their masters dont want to look complete wallies because of the abomination called kosovo they so wisely cooked up.
but all in all this news is of little concern to me personally because as a serb and a patriot of course i dont want any eu membership. i have no masters except god in heaven and i warmly recommend the same approach to everyone else :)

Serbia will have to introduce economical reforms UNILATERALY, whether it joins the EU or not. it's a pity, that Serbian politicians are even not talking about this issue.

the only thing which works perfectly in Serbia is the PR department of Mr. Bonus Miles Jeremic. it is much better informed about the domestic policy of the Netherlands than about the Serbian one. great job!

What is wrong with Serbia joining in 2014? The whole Western Balkans is supposed to join 2015 anyway (apart from Croatia in 2010), why are you so sceptical about Serbia every time its said?

What dud carrot will Delic accept form Rehn at theis next meeting? EU candidate in 2009 - lets refelct on Delic's and his DS party's false promises to the Serbian electorate just at the turn of the year - EU candidate this year and billions in investment! http://xs4.b92.net/eng/news/comments.php?nav_id=46652#hrono

- no doubt next year we will hear a new mantra - candidate in 2010! Serbian citizens need development now not duff EU carrots! DS and its partners are failing to deliver on another of its false promisses!

Mircea

“Our next goal remains receiving candidate status in 2009, and our goal of EU entry in 2014 remains exactly as it was,“ he stressed.

EU entry in 2014? Delic is dreaming again!!

In that case , why stop short of the all nine yards? Why not :
I encourage the Serbian government to join the EU unilaterally.

Absurd!

All jokes aside, it well may be the right moment for Serbia to rethink this EU aspiration business all together.
Something is deeply wrong with the way things are going on – or not:
- In April EU does everything to prop their candidates to form the government
- EU signs a frozen, promissory note (Interim Agreement ) as a sign of good will
- 21 EU country recognizes Kosovo UDI – no consensus necessary
- 25 EU country support deploying the “ frozen deal” – but consensus is necessary
- EU suggest to Serbia to start fulfilling its part of the agreement unilaterally!!!

Dancing tango on your own may be sign of insanity.
EU ; enough!

Serbia- do you not read or see how the EU wants to "treat" us??? Rehn says that even though they cannot provide Serbia any EU benefits at this time, it would be a good idea for Serbia to implement trade agreements and the SAA UNILATERALLY to the EU members. What ELSE do they want Serbia to do??? This is absolutely crazy- the EU wants REAL benefits NOW from suffering Serbia, with only a possibility of reciprocal "benefits" sometime in the future. It probably sounds pretty fair for Tadic and Company.

And so begins the spin. Serbia is never going to be allowed to join the EU. Surely, the populatin must now be able to see that a pro-EU government means nothing. The population should stop shooting themselves in the foot. Wake up look for alternative economic partners. Don't waste time chasing pipe dreams!

Yes Jeremić, you handed over Karadžić, for nothing more than another dud carrot. This so-called government is a complete embarrassment!

These comments made by "little" Vuk are as usual a bit ridicolous..the road for Serbia is long and tough...the main problem is not "internal political problems in Holland" ...everybody with some salt in his head knows that...and for the moment still no words about Croatia...mmmhhh maybe EU fm are listening to the Eu people ?
