@roberto:

my dear, Serbia owns it, of course, and it did so in the past, as all those many-centuries-old churches and monasteries are proving.

your albanian killer-gangs can destroy some of them, but not all of them, and you cannot destroy the evidence for the simple fact that Kosovo is and was always serbian.

there is a republic "kosova", a new state ...but only in your wishes.

my dear roberto, if you have nothing of value to share, it would be better to spare your time... since you only lose credibility by writing such nonsense here!

I think the whole article is a joke since it is based on a completely false premise -- that serbia has anything to do with another sovereign country: the republic of Kosova. serbia -- you don't own it, you never did, and you have no military control over it. so keep quiet!

i am interested in the fate of serbs in the new republic, as well as all other citizens. everything that the belgrade govt has done, so far, has had the affect of separating them from the rest of kosovar society; and then crying "foul" and "You're not multi-cultural!" give me a break -- you can't have it both ways. you can't mass kill and rape and torment, and then keep stirring up trouble, and at the same time accuse the albanians of not being open to their serb neighbors. belgrade -- take some responsibility and stop causing trouble!

To the serbs in kosovo/a -- you are both pawns and actors. you have a choice. many choices. if you continue to support the radicals and all that that implies (as i saw almost everywhere that serbs in kosovo/a are residing) then i do not think your neighbors will welcome you with open arms. nor would i!

Must admit that Serbia did a sort of materpiece in counteracting the unilateral declaration of indipendence, given the international context (strong support of USA and major EU players): relatively very little number of recognitions, delaying EULEX deployment, keeping a role for UNMIK in all Serb inhabitated areas ... I suppose that their objective is subtantial partition in the short-medium run, and "never put limits to the providence" in the long run ... let's see what the future will bring.

Now that you are "independent" with that comes responsibility & accountability. I will be dancing in the streets the day Serbia sends you the bills for all expenses incurred that remain unpaid.

Good luck with your independence, passports, lack of electricity, poor roads, unemployment, corruption, drug trade/human trafficking & inability to travel.

So be it. Let people live free in their own “misery”, but let them be. Don’t just pretend you care.

Strange Mr. Q, how oyu claim Bosnia, FYROM and of course Montenegro have recognized Kosovo when they haven't.

Even more strange how you claim that Serbia refused to recognize the other republics, but let's look at a fact Serbophobes often forget. The Federal Republic of Yugoslavia was established April 28, 1992 after the indpendenc eof the rest of the republics. Thagt constitution mentioned Serbia and Montenegro only as constituting Yugoslavia and it was not forced upon us by anyone, hence Serbia actually recognized the other republics in 1992, in other words countering the claims you make.

With regard to independence & living life on your OWN - the new "government" of Kosovo has yet to prove anything. Furthermore with regard to -
Once they didn't want UNMIK and resolution 1244 until they were forced to and now they are loving it.
Today they don't want EULEX and supervised independence until they will forced to and they will love it.
Later they don't want Kosovo full independence until they will be forced to and they will love it for sure.

I think that Bogdanovic didn't hear what Zannieri said a week ago: "We (UNMIK)have to downplay our role in Kosovo". Maybe he thinks that Zannieri as a diplomat says this and means the opposite, but I wouldn't count on that. His government has acknowledged Kosovo's independency and 21 other EU-nations. After Jeremic's visit in Berlin the German FM, Steinmeier said: "Serbia can go to the ICJ, but they have to take into account the fact that we agreed to Kosovo's independency. We wouldn't have done it, if this was illegal to our oppinion". I think this is in general the oppinion of these 21 European nations supported by their international legal experts.

to Kate's: "If UNMIK is over then all UN contact is over, including international funding etc". Did you forget that Eulex is taking over and the EU alone promised to help Kosovo with billions of Euro, which at the moment Serbia could need too. But it seems that Serbia has money enough and is able to let flow 1.5 Billion of Dollar into the pockets of their 'Russian friends' by signing a deal that is based on promisses, which Russia will not can comply with in the next future. I think the government is blind and doesn't read the articles about Russia's economy. So hope and pray that the SAA will be implemented soon, and Serbia would be able to come out of the trough.

Strange, Mr Q, that you should speak of Kosovo as an independent entity when it is not legally recognised as an independent state (in fact still remains legally a province of Serbia) and certainly cannot support itself economically or politically.

If UNMIK is over then all UN contact is over, including international funding etc. Do you really believe that Kosovo can fully support itself? It's not even recognised by its neighbours and has no established trade routes.

Whether you like it or not, talks will at some point have to take place with Serbia, and it will not be as independent state. The international community knows this.

The only solutions are either some agreed state of autonomy or partition with special status for the Serbian enclaves.

Mr Q

pre 15 godina

Mr Bogdanovic and Serbian government are hanging on a sinking boat. UNMIK is over, gone, will not exist in a month or two. If you want to make sure that serbian minority in Kosova have their rights respected speak to the legitimate government of Kosova as only they are able to do something about the situation in Kosova. Even EULEX is only advisory body no one cares whether Belgrade (Beograd) recognise EULEX or not, you have to wake up and recognise Kosova as you had to do with Slovenia, Hrvatska, Bosnia, Makedonia and the most painfully Crnagora. Everybody in the world knows that Serbia refused to recognise every former republic of Yugoslavia apart from Macedonia but you had to in the end. Stop humiliating yourself again and show the world that Serbia too can be civilised and democratic. Or can it?
