Duro the mistake is yours - in not realising what this is about.

This is about moving forward, rather than staying still. Its about an idea / concept rather than slogans or constantly opposing something. Its about recognising that the Serbian political system is sick and that political and economic change is necessary.

Perhaps we are just replacing one set of problems with another. But I believe that the new problems will be less numerous and more importantly more people will benefit as a result of this policy, than would if we kept on with the old 'lets do nothing' stance.

If you really are interested in the potential benefits of the SAA and official candidate status you can read all about it. But I suspect you have already made your mind up and even if there are benefits you will only pretend they do not exist.

Milan, the sky won't fall in, so stop being such a prophet of doom. I remember in the 90's there was an attitude on part of some that seemed to believe that the world would end if Sloba left power. They argued that if Sloba went away we would only get Draskovic (who was unstable) so it was better to keep him.

I'd rather be constructive and get rid of something bad and learn, rather than live my life scared of change.

Willie do you know something that SRS doesn't, because I'm certain that if your deduction had any substance we would have heard all about it from the horses mouth by now. Mind you that horse is currently busy chewing on its own gums at the moment!

Welcome to the Empire!

Eventually young Serbs will have the privilege of serving in NATO. Im sure the Serbs wont be sent to the middle east theatre but they will be very usefull in places like Georgia and Ukraine. Serb officers are already being trained in Ohio for that role.

Enjoy the EU yoke and be good little Serbian Servents. The joke is on you!

Congratulations bganon your puppet government ratified a piece of paper (SAA) that as of this moment benefits the entire country with a whole lot of zilch.

Tell me because I am so interested to know how tomorrow will be a better day for Serbia?

Funny seeing all these non-Serb "experts" talking Serbian politics... too bad Serbs like bganon are to blind to realize that's exactly the problem and that the EU is nothing but trouble for Serbia. Its position and attitude towards Serbia is well known, and if you cant see that then its too late. But as you said I would like to think you could reconsider your position, only I fear by then it will be too late. The SRS made a big mistake in not voting today, one they will pay dearly for. I don't even mind if they fall apart, more votes for DSS.

You've made your bed now live in it.

It's interesting that parliament has now started to move forward after...

"Voting took place today after the government withdrew from parliamentary procedure the draft resolution on Kosovo, which brought to an end parliament's debate on the items on the agenda."
...

Hmmmmm!

So who was the main cause of the parliamentary 'blocking': the government with its determination not to alter the agenda and push through a Kosovo vote, or the opposition with its determination to fillibuster?

bganon

Glad to see that this parliamentary business has been put to bed.

I'm also glad that this was done (after all the bellyaching and accusations) without any fuss. Just goes to show that much of the opposition to the SAA was opportunistic and did not bear relevance to Kosovo.

Its also telling that nobody is interested in commenting this at B92 now. Perhaps the realisation about how the SAA was used to cover up cracks in SRS and that DSS went to the country on the issue wrongly thinking it was a vote winner.

Well me and ZK have disagreements but I believe his heart is in the right place. I would like to think that you ZK (as anybody else) might reconsider their views on something if you didn't take account of something.

Yes Olli, as I mentioned to Marko yesterday

Marko, lets see what happens over the next few days indeed as I would be glad to be wrong in this instance.

If Nikolic and his group vote yes to ratify the SAA then I stand by my words otherwise he has redeemed himself.

So basically I am glad now. Next.

ZK UK,

You wrote this too:

"As I mentioned, there is a lot of money floating around and Nikolic's job is simply to get a few (former) Radicals to ratify the agreement and his handsome reward will be granted."

I'm looking at it but can't find the question mark.

Now you answer to Jan: "I hope you get the point that I was not stating facts."

Well... Stating insinuations and one-sided views won't take you anywhere.

It will just make good to your mind to see that train has left the station.

I'm stating a fact.

As you can see Jan, most of what I was writing were questions as there is a question mark at the end of each question, which normally means that I am not certain and therefore asking a question. Whether they were non-issues or not is what I was trying to clear up so I was asking those particular questions. I hope you get the point that I was not stating facts. If you are still confused, check this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Question

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, isn't it?

Once again ZK UK demonstrates his superb understanding of Serbian politics - or not!

Seems like the SAA got voted through without too much difficulty.

ZK UK wrote: "So what now with Nikolic? Did he get bribed to assist with the ratification of the SAA?"

If so, it seemed like the rest of SRS got bribe too, seeing that they all abstained from voting. So what is it ZK UK: Is every vote from the SRS MP's up for sale to the highest bidder, or just Nicolic's?

ZK UK wrote: "It would be nice if B92 reported why the SAA cannot get through."

Hint: Maybe they do not report on non-issues, seeing that it got voted through?

ZK UK wrote: "Is the DS split with a few no votes amongst them?"

I don't know. The 140 votes was enough though.

here we are - the show goes on :))

it does not matter, what the result for/against the SAA will be: the "unilateral SAA amandment" makes this voting completely obsolete. all Serbian MPs must know this !! why are go into voting then ???
