According Hungarian news, the number of victims is at least 14 now. The bus was from the area of Kosice, Slovakia. The most probable cause was the driver falling asleep, but some of passengers report, it could be the result of tire defect.
It was a privately chartered bus.
Like with many things: use top bus companies, not the cheap ones... :(
We did return from a very exhausting, long trip this Friday. Part of the trip involved a bus ride with the famous yellow Czech Student Agency bus, part of the trip was with train and part with our own car.
The ride with the Student Agency was spooky, the bus driver did not even remotely keep a safe distance. He routinely tailgated every truck slower than our bus. I was happy as we finished the bus ride - and the seats were horrible. Feel free to be warned.
