Thankyou Nicaragua!!!!

(Just so the K-Albanians here understand how ridiculous they sound crowing over the "dot on the map" non-entity of "Kosova")

BTW - seriously - this is quite a daring move by a small country in the USA's "backyard" to stick its neck out like this. God knows what will happen to them now...

Naturally, Russia is not entitled to have a "backyard".

That's unique and different.

This is a good example, and will resonate and repeat itself throughout other countries in the region. Let me explain why/how.

Ortega in the 1980s had done huge things for the government and country of Nicaragua. Literacy was raised from 50% to some 80 %, a huge improvement. Among other things, the regime was democratic, unlike the brutal pro-american dictatorship prior to it, the Samoza family dictatorship. The problem is that the US does not like democracy that opposes US pillaging of resources and such stuff. The US has gone about destroying democracy all over latin america for a very long time, be it in guatemala, nicaragua, chile, or elsewhere. Now with the US bogged down in Iraq, almost all the countries in the region are turning leftist. This socially oriented block will not fall, unlike before, because they are more united than they ever have been. The next step will be to see other Latin American leftists recognize these breakway countries. Who are these other ones? The leftist collosus, comprised of Venezuela, Bolivia, Ecuador, Cuba, Brazil, Paraguay, Chile, Argentina, Urugay, Guatemala, and soon in 2009, El Salvador. What we should notice is that all these countries have not and will not recognize Kosovo being independent. We see polarization in the world, the opposition to the former colonial masters and the will that the masters want to impose on the world. Workers of the world unite is what the communists said to rally the people being repressed by miserable conditions. We need to take that saying and alter it. Developing world, unite. This inevitably means doing what Manley of Jamaica has said, forming alliances. Latin America is a great potential partner for Serbia and Russia, and is of far more importance than the EU. Nicaragua is just one case of how they are pro orthodox-slavic. Chavez bailed out Belarus when it came time to pay for Russian gas. He can bail us out for many things too, yet we underlook this region. Kosovo's independence has polarized the world, an Latin America is a good example of how. Ossetia and Abkhazia are the consequences, and there will be others. Hopefully our cooperation with Latin America will result in better conditions for both Serbs, and the Latinos. Mucho bueno.

Yes, isn't it funny, EA, how former communist countries now support international law, while so called "Western Powers", now abuse this law for their geopolitical gains. The world has totally done a 180.

Ortega, who led a Soviet-backed government that battled U.S.-supported Contra rebels in the late 1980s, sharply criticized the West for attempting to surround Russia and investing millions of dollars through NATO to "build a military fence against Russia."

As you can see some communist countries are the first to "uphold" the international law when it comes to Russia's interest. I expect Bjellorussia next and Cuba thereafter. That is a great "victory" for Russia and the democratic world.
