This is exactly the reason why Serbia lost the battle over Kosovo: they simply never took Albanians seriously. Milosevic and his followers even thought they could simply "erase" more than one million of them from Kosovo.

It is sad to still read comments here which completely ignore the will of the people of Kosovo. They ignored it even then when the demands of the Kosovars were far less than independence. It is the best proof that Kosovo MUST be independent.

by not taking other people seriously the distance from belgrade to the border has in the last few years become shorter and shorter.

No problem! as long as Mr. Sejdiu will use the title as "Kosovo Provincial Governor". since we all know that kosovo is a UN recognized part of Serbia whether pristina accept it or not.

well, "logic" you might be right on that!

the real difference could be seen in the fact, that the republic of Serbia is generally recognized as a state, a member of the UN and other international organizations, capable of taking care of it´s energy and other public services...

while Kosovo is only a province in Serbia´s south. and that´s it.

whether there is some man calling himself "president"... or it is all just a virtual republic... that´s not important.

Tadic does not have to run away from THIS little man...

he simply does not have to take him serious, that´s what is actually nearer to reality, I guess.

To the poster above me, Republic of Serbia is not "sovereign" if 10% of it's territory (which it claims) can't be controlled either physically or politically.

You can't be sovereign and non-sovereign at the same time.

You find humor in strange things, Miri. There is no reason at all for President Tadic to meet Seidju. What in the world have they to talk about? President Tadic is an elected official, from the sovereign state of Serbia. Seidju lives in Serbia's Southern province, that's all. They could maybe talk about the weather?

It looks like the roles have changed. Sometime ago it was Tadic who was dying to meet Sejdiu without an international representatives(the former hoping to convince the later to give up independence).
Now is Sejdiu stretching his hand and Tadic running away.
Isn't this funny?
