Why not? A few hooligans do not represent the mentality of an entire country. Serbia is a European country and has every right to join the EU if the people want it to.

For the sake of security and stability in the troubled region of the Balkans, I think the EU will overlook a few politicians and hooligans when it comes to Serbian membership prospects.

Shame on Serbia, a place where people's life's are worth nothing unless sacrificed for something political. Noone honestly believe this place has any place in the EU ?

It is sad that this guy died but I do get the feeling that his death is being abused by the radicals here.

As I was present at some of this protest my feeling and the feelings of others also, is not that the police were brutal, but that they were not hard enough with the hooligans.

And we ALL knew beforehand that it was likely that the hooligans would turn up.

Frankly I also wonder about the way this case happened. It was a SRS announcement that Panic was a casualty - days after the event. That is extremely odd and uncommon.

I deeply regret, that Mr. Panic had to die. everybody knew before this farewell party for SRS-hero Karadzic, that there will be dozens of (paid) hooligans and on the other side police forces for to avoid riots, as they were already seen several times this year in Belgrade.

SRS was speculating with the factor "violence" as a part of their PR strategy for this event. nobody on the propaganda stage of SRS was on the side of public order, it looked like the officials of SRS were more or less waiting for the hooligans to come.

the farewell party for Karadzic was a total flop compared with the massive support, which was announced earlier by SRS. it cost the life of a Serbian citizen. Vukic and SRS should care for his family - as the clashes were part of the SRS show.
