If McCain/Palin should win and McCain should die in office and Palin becomes president and shortly there after all hell breaks loose in the world with war (world) becoming inevitable. She is moved to where ever they move the president where she is conducting business as the 'commander-in-chief. She gets an urgent call from a hospital that her husband and children have been crittically injured enrout to join her. She is told that death is certain for two kids in a matter of hours, one is calling for her, a doctor tells her that her blood is needed. If she does not see them immediately she will not see them alive again. She will not be able to funeralize those that expire because she has to run the war. What will she do? Will she go to her family (the working mom that everyone is so proud of) or continue to be 'commander-in-chief?

I won´t refer to those naive, and almost childish attempts to react on that irrelevant "news" with statements like "Biden has all the shots" and similar nonsense.

it´s easily understandable, why some of our dear albanian friends feel the need to write somthing like that when they read about alleged ties to the serb community...

as for those alleged ties...

let´s get the facts straight:

since there is UNSC 1244 ties are not that important... international law is much more important.

and besides Moral and History, the Law is on Serbia´s side.

and that feels quite good.

No matter who the US president is, the foreign policy in places where the US has invested heavily won't change a bit. Most of the Obama advisers are the ones that actually were in the forefront for military intervention in Serbia. Finally, Obama himself has said that Kosovo is independent and that is final.

Serbia should concentrate in improving its relations with its neighbors and recognize Kosovo too.

As a Chicago born Serb I must say some of the comments written about this topic are very interesting. My biggest concern always when I vote is foreign policy in the Balkans. That said neither candidate in America is good for Serbia. Probably the only good candidate for the Balkans and the Serbs is Ron Paul and he will receive my write in vote.
While there is a large number of Serbs and other "Yugoslavs" (Croats, Slovenians, Bosnaiks, and other nationalities from the former Yugoslavia) in the Chicagoland community it is nowhere near 700,000. That would make 10% of the area Serbian. It is probably around 300,000 to 400,000 of all of the communities from the former Yugoslavia which makes around 5% or less, which is accurate. Yes there is a large number of Serbs including over a dozen churches and a couple of monasteries, but not 10% of the area. If that was the case I wouldn't always be asked where am I from with such a foreign looking name.

That is not Serb propaganda! Its the truth! Where do you think people in the USA came from. 75% of USA'S population has European blood. The USA was created with Immigrants from other countries. Learn some history!

There is almost exactly 350,000 Serbs in the Chicago land area. If one adds Detroit, New York, Cleveland, Milwaukee, Las Vegas, and Los Angles than there are close if not more than 700,000 Serbs descendants in the USA. Granted many of those Serbs are 3rd or 4th generations, but Serbian they are.

All one has to do is see a persons last name and they know where they are from.

Michael John

pre 15 godina

Gajo,

Are you really sure there are 700,000 Serbs in the state of Illinois alone. This would bring the number of Serbs in Illinois alone at 0.23% of all the people in The USA, based on a total population of 300 million. Based on what you are claiming, that would mean there are more Serbs in the USA than there are in Serbia. As you you know, there are only 9 million Serbs in Serbia, and you are saying that in the USA the Serbs are 3% of the population! Do you realize how ridiculous this sounds. It's no wonder that no one believes Serb propaganda.

In fact, there are less than a million Serbs living in the USA.

Do you think the Serbs in the States are thinking about Kosovo. They are donating money to Obama for US policies in the country they live in. Sure Kosovo is on their mind, but they are not donating to Obama to change the stance on Kosovo.

The world does not revolve around Kosovo. The truth of the fact is no one has mentioned Kosovo in the US since the Belgrade Embassy burnings.

Let me make this clear... 700 thousand serbs don'y live in chicago. I live in chicago, and only about 300 thousand live here (this is chicago land including the suburbs).
Secondly, Obama already gave its congrats to Kosova regarding its independence and pledged to support us. Mr. Rod Blagojevic also supported Obama in its foreign policy which includes Kosova.
What will serbian influence have in kosova... well nothing because it is already set and done. Biden will shape up his foreign policy, and he will have hillary clinton replace Ms. Rice.

Since both Republican and Democrats acted in unison regarding recognition of albanian Kosovo,no one should expect Serbian community in Illinois to tie itself to either one of these. And for sure not to "democrats".And just for record Chicago alone has almost 200.000 Serbians the other 400.000 live outside the city limits.Huge number to be ignored this election year and we all love Mellisa but hate what her party represents and she won`t win without our money and support.Same goes for Obama-we cannot trust democrats.

MVJ

Obama gets it, which is why he is the Democratic nominee. Serbs get it, too (finally). Albanians and Croats have used up their "fuel" with the American politicians and there is nothing else left for them to do. We (Serbs) outnumber them in the US and we are concentrated in the battlegound states. McCain and Clinton did not care for our votes to their detriment, while Obama does. Although not much will change with respect to Serbia, things won't get worse and that's all we need for now. With time, American policy towards Serbia will improve, as the die-hard American Serbophobes will slowly fall by the wayside. Our time is coming.

Fools - wasting their money when U.S. policy is already made up despite who is the president.

Instead that money could have helped the Serb refugees, helped rebuild Serbia, helped invest in Serbia, helped hospitals, etc.

They should be more like Vlade Divac who goes to Serbia and makes sure the money is going to actually help the people it is intended to help.

With so many Serbs and many of them rich, they could pool their money and then have representatives to ensure it works to actually help those who need it - and not just end up in politicians pockets who make empty promises.

But look at the bright-side everyone. . .heroin can also buy you political favor!

What an amazing country we live in. When ordinary citizens (even drug-dealers) can "influence" government policy simply by writing a check!

Yes sir! These are the people we want to lead our nation! They need lots of money to pay for TV ads to create a cult of personality that wins another term in this seat or that office.

Problem is. . .no one asks where the money comes from!?!

Ask yourselves how does a relatively small community comprised of roofers and pizza-parlor owners in Brooklyn have such a powerful lobby group?

As for Biden, doubt his 'influence' will extend to who Obama picks to staff the white house as Obama will be looking for familiar faces - just as other presidents (including Bush) did before him.

And I still have serious doubts as to Biden's relevance after the elections are over. Obama may yet be his 'own man'.

Now wouldn't that be a shame.
