Louie, I'm sure that Indonesia can do without you as well, but that's not the point.
The point is that Indonesia carries more influence with Islamic world than Albania does, so the Islamic countries will be looking for guidence from them which leaves you without much support.

Perhaps you should rethink how you show your displesure with Indonesia. You do need them more than you think.

Filip:
Indonesia does indeed have separatist issues, & not just from one such group. Are several islands where distinct ethnic groups are agitating for independence.

But Bali is not one of them.

And the overwhelming majority of balinese are hindu - not christian.

And despite the bombings a couple of years ago, Bali is still one of the most popular tourist destinations for australians & others in the region.

Noel:
> Seems like Indonesia is the only support for Mr Jeremic's camp, that's why they keep reiterating her stance.

Indonesian relevance is due to it's status as the largest muslim nation, which has an impact in the muslim world, which doesn't exactly have the warmest of feelings towards the west.

Political pragmatism does not exist in isolation, but is only one factor when it comes to recognition.

And 'Indonesia the only supporter'?

You wish.

interesting. it is of course very helpful for Serbia in defending international law, when Mr. Dalimunthe says "Serbia and Kosovo are one country "

given that Indonesia is a muslim country, not to speak of the fact that it is the one with the strongest muslim popultation, this is very good in order to make it clear to all the other muslim-nations that Serbia is not against the muslim-faith but against a greater albanian ideology, based on a illusionary myth. that will help Serbia quite a lot, especially in this political body of the islamic-world.

may I compliment Mr. Dalimunthe and the indonesian state for that very wise approach in regard to the Kosovo-issue.

little sidenote:
Noel, you either do not inform yourself or you are deliberately spreading false-info. it is of course not only Indonesia... but also states like Brasil, China, India, Russia, several EU-memberstates and many others... and that is worth a lot.
especially after the Russians have made it clear that they are to be taken serious again...

time works for Serbia, even if you don´t realize it.

perhaps Noel doesn´t know it, but in the media-scene down in Pristina they are already asking the first critical questions about what "independence" has brought to the people...

as I said it, time works for Serbia.

Seems like Indonesia is the only support for Mr Jeremic's camp, that's why they keep reiterating her stance.

It's striking to see how people expect rcognition because of religious believes,

Relegion doesn't determine national interests in Saudi Arabia let alone somewhere else.

Indonezia is just another state who surpress many etnic groups in this part of Azia, like people of Bali, the majority of which is of christian beliefe. All those countries who has recognized Kosova are the countries I always wished to visit or to live in or to work, while the others who have not recognized yet are those I believe niether I ore the most of balkan people, even serbs, are the countries which probably one from balkan seldom will visit or would like to work there and so on. It it obviouess that Those big countries are ocupying, exploating and missusing teritories of lots of etnic groups trying to asimilate dhem.

'sp' on this forum raised the theory that countries with their own 'separatist problems' would be reluctant to back Serbia's initiative to bring this issue before the ICJ on the grounds that should the ICJ rule against Serbia, this would legitimise the 'independence aspirations' of their own separatist's.

Seems Indonesia for one is confident enough of Serbia's chances of a favouable ruling before the ICJ to back it.

Another theory shot down in flames.
