The Serbian part of northern Kosovo should declare independence from Kosovo and rejoin Serbia. This is the only solution for the survival of the Kosovo Serbs. If parts of Georgia can do this, and the Kosovo Albanians can do this, why can the Serbs not do this?

Ms Trajkovic, spoken like a true Albanian or someone on their payroll.
Thank god that irresponsible decisions are being blocked int the UN. Would you rather this safety guard was not in place?
Where would the Serbs of Kosovo be now if we didn't have the blocking mechanism in the UN?

Go away, you don't belong in the spotlight. Albanians are doing just fine without your help.

peace and co-existence with Albanians has been possible prior to the start of the albanian terror-campaign in 1998.

strange, how some writers here would like to create the impression as if the Serbs do not want the Albanians...

when it is just the opposite.

those propaganda-techniques are so cheap. and futile.

Albanians will live in peace and prosperity once this criminal creation is re-integrated again.

as for mrs. trajkovic´s statement: as long the important issues can be blocked in the UNSC, I am very fine with that.

so, as long as the UNSC is the highest institution of international law and relations, ladies like her can talk a lot...

"Iowe,
The only active military force present in Kosova now is NATO. Without a military force supporting partition, the north isn't going anywhere.

If anything, it will just isolate itself from the rest of the country and become a ghetto.
(PPQ, 24 August 2008 21:00) "

PPQ,

It obviously did not occur to you that there is already a de facto partition at the Ibar WITH Nato's tacit acquiescence. Nato has done NOTHING since 1999 to overturn this because it feared a bloodbath and it is Nato that has PREVENTED Albanians from marching up north.

As for the north itself, why don't you conduct an objective poll? I will bet you my last euro that the K-Serbs there will vote overwhelmingly to become a "ghetto" (your word, not mine) with secure ties to Belgrade rather than be under Pristina's rule.

EULEX is here to stay, there is absolutely nothing you can do. Belgrade is slowly realizing that it's reach ends at the Serbia - Kosova border.

Trajković is indeed a pragmatist. Coming from central Kosovo, she has no choice. The main issue is whether EULEX will be deployed in the north as well, and this is where BG comes in. Trajković may want BG to sign off on EULEX simply to unite Serb policy from Gracanica through Mitrovica, on up. I don't think the actual policies of EULEX are in question - it's just a matter of procedure. Still, I agree with her rationale, coming from where she's coming from.

Nice to see you again, village-bey.

It does not matter from which part of Kosovo Trajkovic is. Independently of its deep motivations, this is a very clever move. In first as more pragmatic and counterbalance of the zig zag policy of Belgrade. One thing is clear. All people in the Balkans due to specific historical challenges are the most pragmatic one. When it comes to profit from a given situation they do not hesitate to completely change their position. In this specific case the Serbs in Kosovo feel they can be faster to EU or profit from EU even through some "banal" things such as passport, economical aid, investments etc. - important issues they can not get from Belgrade. I do not know the reaction of Belgrade on this statement(s) - probably B92 can inform us better. But it is clear Trajkovic has stolen the show of all the actual politicians in Belgrade. I would very much promote such statements for the sake of prosperity of all citizens of Kosovo.

I am impressed to hear by a Serb and it shows that there are many Serbs in Kosova who want peace and c0-existance with Albanians.

Lowe,
You foresee this issue as primarily a nationalist problem where the individual's rights are always subservient to the ideal of national survival. At the present climate, it is only natural that many people will feel like that but that does not mean that your national ideal is more important than the individual choice.
The other day you were calling yet again for people placements, as if we did not have enough of them recently.
Will those people whom you proposing to send north of Kosova have any say on this? Does your scheme involve the settlers of the wars in Bosnia and Croatia moved to Kosova during the 90s? I have lost count of how many times have they been called to save this national idea and I doubt very much that they will fall for it this time around.
Radmila Trajković may share your dislike for Kosova’s independence but she at least is trying to make the best out of a desperate situation.

Hey Smile, long time no see.

rada follows the yellow brick road, she's a simple and predictable soul and i have no problem with that. she was with slobodan milosevic's wife's party jul, because that's where the money used to be. oliver ivanovic was also close to that. i respect that. what i mind are the liars in belgrade who let the likes of rada and oliver put out their feelers for them.
predictable play by our western enemies to try and divide the serbs in kosovo in order to push their agenda, and also simply pay some to help them. really, that's the first thing that comes to mind when you think about how to destroy a nation, no hard feelings. but struggle all rada can, intimidate the serbs living behind barbed wire in central kosovo all she can, the real star issue is the north. and with leaders like milan ivanovic and marko jaksic its as they say, gone on its own way. hm. what now :)

Radmila is from central Kosovo which, without land continuity to the rest of Serbia, will be at the mercy of EULEX. This however is not the case north of the Ibar, where there is already a de facto partition.
