I find these arguments, over Kosovo, the indebting of Serbia (which makes no sense, as governments produce money) and Georgia quite interesting.

I am not impressed with the fact that, whereas Russia stopped fighting the Cold War, America did not.

As an Australian, whom Washington expects to hate and fight, not only Serbs, but India (for deciding to limit foreign investment in the 1990's) but now Russia as well, I am most unimpressed.

I would much rather watch Serbian performers, such as the Beauty Queens (if only the would sing in English!) than shoot at them for a mad idea of world power.

Russia's president has said the two breakaway regions should be allowed to make their own decisions on their future status"

Thanks for making things so clear. The Serbian panel will love that. The reason is because Russia "cares" so much about the international law)))))

I love the K-Albanians complaining here....

The reason Russia backs Ossetia/Abhazia and not "Kosova" is because it is "unique" and "Kosova" isn't... that's it, no need to justify yourself anymore.. it's just how Russia sees it - end of story.

The USA (in conjuction with the KLA) invented the new rule, go ask them if you have a problem with it!!!

Sergei, please leave Illyrians out of this. The question here is: how come Russia supports the independence of S Ossetia (70 k) and Abkhasia (180 k), but is against the independence of Kosova (2 mil) or the independence of Chechnya (1 mil)? After all wasn't Russia saying that all those issues are connected to each-other?

Actually Ahmet, the population of Abkhazia alone is over 180,000 and as many as 215,000. Of those, about 90,000 to 100,000 are your fellow Muslim Abkhazians and only 20,000 – 25,000 are Russian. In addition, historically specking, the Abkhazians have always been there. Even if one accepts the Illyrian origins of Albanians, the Illyrians abandoned the area which is now Kosovo as the Jews did with Israel, while those who reoccupied it under the Turks, Communists, and NATO are descendents of isolated mountain Illyrians from areas West and South and not of the acculturated Greek and Roman speaking Illyrians who abandoned the area under Hun pressure prior to the Slavic migration into the Balkans.

"Russia's president has said the two breakaway regions should be allowed to make their own decisions on their future status".

Mr. Russian president, how comwe 120 thousand russians living in both mentioned regions have that right and 2 milion Albanians no?
So much for the defender of International LAW.
Russia is a big joke, and is getting worst by day.
